During the purchase process both my mother and my girlfriend were present and can attest as witnesses that everything I'm saying is true. The dealer told us that the 2017 Ford Explorer XLT AWD I was looking at was just inspected, has all fluids flushed and change, new tires, and a new exhaust system. I purchased the car the same day on July 20th 2024. July 21st 2024, I noticed the car was missing a seat belt. I contacted the dealer and he offered to buy the part to have it installed. Upon further inspection I found the multiple other missing parts. I reached out to the dealer again and was told the full inspection only covered the "front seat because no one looks in the back anyway". July 30th 2024, temperature light comes across the dash. I turned the car off and checked the coolant level. It's dangerously below where it should be. Odd...because if the fluids were flushed and changed the coolant should have still been fine. I caught a lyft to autozone, purchased two containers of orange coolant (as required by my owner's manual) and filled up the coolant. Sent the dealer an email questioning the fluid levels, but got no response. I send my mother to pick up the seatbelt from the dealer – on July 31st -- he says I should "purchase a warranty and make them pay for it". Following the dealers' instructions, I purchased a warranty through a third party. Days later I notice dark spots in my driveway. Coolant check show coolant is a lot lower than when I filled it. Had the car towed to a mechanic. Warranty company says it has a MODERATE coolant leak. I asked the mechanic if a general inspection should have uncovered the coolant leak, he stated yes. I then asked about the age of the tires on the SUV and the mechanic stated they were used snow tires "at least a year old". The warranty company conducted two inspections and denied the repair claim stating the defect was a preexisting condition. Dealer never offered warranty prior to sale.
