I took my car to the shop on Monday they did a free diagnostic told me they had to do a full diagnostic to see what the problem was for 2 hundred and something bur if they fixes my car it would be free. So they called me and told me what the full diagnostic said so I told them to fix it which costed me 934.46. I picked it up on Tuesday around noon about 535 that evening NY check engine light was back on and my car was ticking.. So I called talk to ****** and she told me to bring it back but I told her I couldn't until Thursday when I was off cause I had to work.. Thursday I called to see what was the best time to bring it and talked to ***** he said 3 get there at 247 car wasn't looked at until 415 maybe mean while another lady came in complaining about her car and that she was calling her lawyer.. For them to tell me 5 minutes later that it is something else wrong with my car.. So I asked why yall didn't see this when yall suppose to do the full diagnostic on Monday.. ***** said because once the found the first thing they stopped and fixed that l.. But again like I asked him why yall did see this on Monday when doing the full diagnostic and I just paid almost a thousand dollars and my car not fixed all the way and wasn't ticking when I brought it to yall.. ***** also stated I needed to take it back to where I got my tune up done at.. But I don't understand why I need to take it back to him when yall was suppose to do a full diagnostic and should of told me everything that was wrong with it on Monday.. Not fox petting and I have to come back 2 days later and it's something else.. How? I can take a refund or just fix my car right.Business response

We reached out to Ms. ***** and followed up on the situation. An individual that she knows had previously worked on the vehicle and the car was driven for a period of time with a spark plug that had the gap totally closed which can wash the cylinder out with fuel. Our "diagnostic charge" should have explained that we removed all 6 of the new spark plugs and re gapped them to the manufacturers specifications. We also took a picture of the screen on our diagnostic tablet showing the many codes that were present when we first received the vehicle. We did not create a ticking in the engine by what work we performed. The ticking could be a result of previous work performed incorrectly on the vehicle. We did not notice a ticking when we inspected the vehicle and Ms. ***** agreed that there was not a ticking when she originally picked up the vehicle.Initial Complaint

Bought a car from Carvana with a warranty on non-maintenance parts. Carvana uses an insurance provider named Silverrock. Meineke told me the lower engine oil pan needed replaced and confirmed that Silverrock would cover the repair. I would pay a deductible. I agreed. When the repair was done, Meineke said that Silverrock had not paid and my car would not be released until all parties had paid. Meineke NEVER told me this in the beginning. I paid in full $923.84 for both Silverrock and myself. I waited for reimbursement from Meineke. On 7/10/23 I called Silverrock to ask about the payment. I asked Siverrock to follow up with Meineke. Meineke was paid on 7/10/2023 following my call. I went to Meineke on 7/11/23 but Meineke refused to pay me stating that 7/10 had been a better day for them. If I had never called Silverrock, Meineke could still have my car. Meineke refused to give me a credit for the Silverrock payment but later forced me to give them a loan for $506.19.Business response

The customer came in to get her oil pan replaced with us and she was doing it through her warranty company silver rock. We were having issues receiving payment from them and we told the cust. we had to have payment to release the vehicle. The cust. went ahead and paid the bill and after 2 weeks, silverrock finally emailed us with a wex payment. we advised the cust. Monday to come back by and we would get this resolved with her. She said she would for sure come in that day and get it resolved. She didn't show up Monday and decided to come Tuesday. I was off Tuesday so ****** was here by herself and was unsure of how to process all of this as the cust. paid with 3 different cards and was wanting the refund split between 2 different cards. ****** then called me and I tried walking her through it on the phone but she was having issues. I told ****** *ust to have her come back Wednesday and I would handle it or that she could call **** and get this situated. ****** then explained to the cust. what was going on and apologized about the inconvenience. The cust. then stated she would just handle it on her own through the warranty company.Initial Complaint

The company charged $1818 to fix my car for a battery a altinatot valve cover gaskets n plugs n wires n they did a fuel system work too I did not authorize on half the work for 1 n 2nd the cost is ridiculous they were rude to me n my family as well the work was done on February 18th I talk to district manager n he did nothing I will be talking to a attorney as well as another ase certified mechanic as for value I will never ever got another meineke store ever n I'll make sure no one else does eitherBusiness response

We took our vehicle in to Meineke for a miss fire issue. It also had a check engine light on in the vehicle when arriving at Meinicke they told us to leave our vehicle there they would hook it up to a diagnostics machine determine what needed to be done to fix the issue they also then told us they drove a vehicle for a short test drive to see what the vehicle was doing They called back the next day stating that the vehicle had shown on the diagnostics report that the Cala converter was stopped up needed to be changed we told them to go ahead and do what needed to be done to fix the issue meanwhile why they had the vehicle we went ahead and had to ask them to change the spark plugs the oil the air filters. After two days they called us to pick the vehicle up we made it less than one block from the building then realized the check engine light was still on also the car was still having a misfire issue we returned immediately to the store where we was approached by a young man who then proceeded to come outside get in the car as we drove down the road he then tried to tell us that it was a transmission issue after we had done paid he bill for the work that he had stated the vehicle needed to fix the issue then an older gentleman came outside said he would hook a vehicle back up for us the next day if we left it for another day so we did now today they have called to tell us they had change an O2 sensor that shown up with the rating of the check engine light but the vehicle was still having the same issue with the misfire which was the reason the vehicle was taken to Meineke to begin with so we are yet again going to pick the vehicle up today that has the same issue that we took the vehicle in to be fixed we are out over $2000.00. We want are money back are our truck full fixed!Business response

I had Meineke Car Center #2687 replace the fuel tank and fuel pump. The control cable for fuel pump / sensors was routed incorrectly,causing the connector to come undone shortly after I left the shop. This caused me to be stranded in traffic at or near the Wal-Mart in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. A tow truck was ordered and I returned to Meineke where this was repaired. A few weeks after this, I noticed the fuel hand was not working properly and returned to Meineke with the complaint issue. A warranty replacement fuel pump was installed. The gas hand was working again, but after traveling toward Louisville, Kentucky the engine "bucked" and the check engine light came on. I stopped at the nearest AutoZone to get a reading of the check engine light and it was showing 5 to 6 error codes. I returned to Meineke and after they looked at the error codes, they told me they did not know what it could be and for the following six months they refused to trouble-shoot the issue because I had changed out the Evap pollution control canister and related solenoids, which changed nothing with the error codes or the "ruff" running of my vehicle. For 6 months I went thru living hell with my vehicles performance. It was Like it was getting more gas than it needed, gas was getting in the oil, it smoked black, getting into the cabin. I was coughing up black when I got in the shower. I have had to replace 2 sets (8 each) of spark-plugs due to them "fouling-out". I returned to Meineke and stated that from the symptoms I was experiencing maybe I had another factory defective fuel-pump, since the first one malfunctioned. Still Meineke would have nothing more to do with the maintenance of my vehicle. Around the first of the year 2023 the car quit starting all together. It would turn over, but not start. Like it was not getting gas. I had it towed into ***** **** in Elizabethtown and within the day the problem was foung to be 4 pinched fuel pump control wires. Pinched between the fuel tank and vehicle body. I seek payment of repair bill and towing.Business response

Ford recorded the error codes that meineke recorded after the fuel pump replacement. One being the fuel rail sensor and another the EVAP sensor. After Ford fixed the pinched wires the error codes were gone. To not take responsibility for this liability is sorry in the least and after thousands of dollars spent at their facility that shows pure UN-professional behavior. Refund me for this repair that you refused to honor and you will NEVER see me or my family and friends in your store AGAIN.

My invoice shows this location sold me a TPMS sensor. But instead, they only installed a valve stem. Then when I called about it, they threw up every imaginable obstacle to avoid resolving the issue.Business response

I don’t understand how this happened. When you install a valve stem rather than a sensor, the TPMS light on the dash will illuminate indicating there is still a fault with the system. This would be recognized immediately. We were informed of this problem several months later.
We have made several attempts to reach Mr. *********** that have been unsuccessful including leaving voicemails.

If someone at Meineke was having difficulty reaching me, it may be because the BBB complaint shows my phone number is ***** *********, which is an invalid phone number. The screenshots I took when I created the complaint on 12/19/2022 show that I entered my phone number correctly, which is ************. Could you please correct my phone number on the complaint?
It is not accurate that Meineke only heard about this issue several months afterward. I called the manager the very same day, within 30 minutes. I explained that the low tire pressure light was still on after the repair, and then started flashing. He told me the problem was simply that "the program didn't take" and that it did not mean the tire would go flat, so I continued on my 9 hour drive home. I would still like to have the TPMS sensor programmed correctly, or installed if it was not already.
The person I have been in communication with is ***** *****. A week ago on 1/25/2023, I left him a voicemail at (**** ********? because he said that was the best number to reach him. I explained that I am waiting for my local Meineke to honor the internal warranty process, so there is nothing I can do on my end at this time. Thank you.

I have paid this company $2700 to fix my car. I am now back for the forth time. They have stated it has been fixed. I have received a 2nd opinion and they have stated it is not fixed. I would like half my money back and my car fixed to compensate my time.Business response

I took my car in to Meineke because the check engine light was on. They said it was the Catalytic Converter and the Oxygen Sensor. I have taken my car back to Meineke Care Care three time for the same thing. After the first time come to find out they did not change the Oxygen Sensor, but yet I was charged for it. The Second time I took it back, I was told to give it a couple of days, and see if the check engine would go out, it because of the weather change. My check engine light is still on. Took it back for the third time, the light when out but only for a day. My check engine is still on after they were suppose to have fixed it. I paid 1,740.94 dollars and my car still not fixed. I also took it to Auto Zone to get a Diagnostic done and it keeps reading the Oxygen Sensor is bad. I would like the repairs promised or a refund so that I can take my car elsewhere to get it repaired.Business response

I took my car in for service, when you put it in reverse and back it up it sounds like something is dragging in the rear. I have taken my car back 3 times for the same thing within one week. I'm tried of putting out this kind of money with no results. The paper will show that they did the front brakes, you would think that they should have check the rear also. At this point I just would like to see some results. (repaired). Not just a guessing game. Just fix what what they said they had fixed the (dragging noise coming from the rear).Business response

Originally went in for a oil change. They expressed I had an oil leak and should get it looked at. After the diagnostic, they said the car had a number of problems. The main being the oil leak. After thousands of dollars worth of work. From them replacing and oil pan to my oil sensor. The oil light randomly came on and my car shut off on me on the highway. I took it to ********e and because of the low oil. It did more damage to my engine. They expressed I needed to take it to the dealership. This has been a huge waste of time and money.
