I hired ****** Knaps to do painting for my *** damaged home in July 2022. He was expensive, but had good ratings,. There were a couple of good workers, but the very thing I expressed concern about, such as *************** did not speak English- he hired later. I had double hung windows painted shut multiple times, paint on almost every single brass hardware, he did the railing itself- twice- and it still looks sloppy, missing wood on redone dormers( I bought the wood from my millwork company in ***********), cracked bricks and ruts in my yard from using a manlift instead of scaffolding and ladders for the dormers, missing paint and caulk on dormers and gablevents, work not finished by deadlines( I needed flooring redone, but deadlines missed), no caulk around new wood windows, using rollers on doors and cabinets, after expressing we wanted paint brushes, because we did not want pitted texture on wood. Some areas not prime or prepped properly. The back dormer is crooked. I had to hire a licensed *********/******* to correct the mistakes and to finish. ****** charged me two-thirds upfront, even though we supplied paint, wood,& supplies directly. He was supposed to supply tape-drop cloths, some of which I wound up supplying, as his guys came without. His workers backed up my toilet twice. Multiple employees quit and so the final two that came, could not fix the areas that were messed up. I had enough after several attempts and wanted to be credited with what was not done or needed to be fixed. ****** reluctantly came over, tried to ***** us with costs not related to our original contract, and tried to give us credit for less than half than what he charged for work not done and completed by others. He refused to look at the damages and walked out on us. He then tried to charge us and harassed and gaslitted us-until our attorney contacted him. No integrity. I have pictures/ proof. BBB is paid membership. If you dont pay- you dont get rated. It doesnt mean anything.
