I had to cancel my daughter trip to ***** due to mental health issues. I canceled on September 24th of 2024, I was told I would have a refund sent back to my debit card that the payment have been coming out from. I called up on November 1st to find out whats going on with my refund and was told a check was mailed out in October 18th. No one reached out to let me know instead of us refunding the card we sent you a check. I never got a check in the mail called to find out whats going on and was told oh you should have gotten the check we will send you a new check. I spoke to a ******* who told me we can add tracking on the check this time called today to find out what the tracking info is got a new person name ******* who told me we cant track checks you will just need to wait and see when it comes in I said thats not what I was told by *******. He placed me on hold for 15 min to come back and said Im a lier ******* * never said that so I asked to speak with a manager and was told flat out no I cant let you speak to a manager and he keeps getting rude with me so I asked for a email for a manager and was given the wrong email address so I had to do a live chat with a *** who eventually gave me the correct email address. I got an automated message back stating they will not review the message for 4 to 7 business days. *he company is a nightmare to deal with. I do not recommend anyone using this company.Review from Justin A

EF Tours removed one of the three countries we would visit next March. When I chose to cancel, they charged me a TON of money. None of this was my fault. I received an email saying our tour had changed, but I never was given any options. ** is a total ripoff. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO TRAVEL!!!!!!!Review from Marilyn S

This is an expensive scam they charge a 500 cancellation fee even if you cancel months in advance. This isnt the first time *** had problems with this company. The last time they required Covid testing prior to travel. My daughter tested positive and couldnt go and they refused a refund that time as well. Do not do business with EF Tours. Its an expensive scam with zero protections or guarantees in regards to your money. Take your kids traveling on your own and skip the overpriced middle man.Review from IntegrityInUSA

EF Tours website provide no ability to leave feedback, nor do they provide email address to send feedback.1st ************ guide) to ****** in 7/2019 was perfection! Hence reason we booked 2nd tour to ***** in 7/2024 AND even brought guests to join tour!- EF Tours 24 hour emergency line was NOT available for stranded traveler returning to U.S. He tried 2 numbers several times including collect call. He purchased his own return flight next day to U.S. When he asked EF Tours for a refund for original return flight airline cancelled, ** refused to refund him. Unacceptable!- I called EF Tours prior to trip & asked to arrange connecting flights to be w/ main group. They "couldn't" honor the request.- EF had us take taxi from airport to hotel to drop bags upon arrival, then taxi to meet w/ main group. Took hours away from 1st day of tour.- No lunch on 2nd day. Tour guide didn't notify restaurant to expect 50 folks. 1 server taking orders w/ 45 minutes to next stop.- Couldnt leave bags on bus *numerous occasions*. Had to switch buses too many times and carry heavy bags in extreme heat for hours.- Too much free time was arranged outside during heat wave which was exhausting for travelers (few people got sick).- Tour Guide was poor&clueless providing directions, casual activities in areas, & how to handle unplanned situations (such as consistent need for water, restaurants to turn on AC if they had one, hotel not having safe drinking water, ensuring vegetarians get *vegetarian meals*). - Flight from south ***** to **** was unnecessarily early. Left for airport at 3am w/ full day of activities planned. Several folks once again exhausted and heat was immense.- Had gas station stop for lunch on 1 occasion.- Poor "to-go" breakfast choices last 2 days. Vegetarians offered fish as option (fish is not vegetarian, I made this clear to EF prior to trip). No vegetarian breakfast provided last 2 days of trip - unacceptable!We will not be traveling with EF Tours again.Review from Jul B

Terrible company and service! They charge a lot and do not deliver for such a high price. There is no chance to get a refund and they do not care to explain to you the issues that might come up or how to resolve them. Their only goal is to get the money from you. Trying to give less than 1 star and baffled at how this shows up as a b credit with better business bureau especially given the list of negative reviews below. really wanted to like this company and was excited for my daughters trip, which was cancelled due to unrest in the area they planned to travel. ** refused to fully refund our money and kept $600 for what they called "admin Fees" I was going to give them another try and asked that the "admin fees" be applied to the next trip. this request was refused.Review from Joe A

Charged me $600 in Aug 2024 for cancelling my son's trip which is in March of 2025?!$195 non-refundable for insurance?$95 for whatever?$300 cancelation fee?I would not book any trips for our son with this company after reading all the negative reviews and my own personal experience.Review from Anna L

Can I give less than 1 star? Horrible accommodations, worse food- but the adults/chaperones drink alcohol during meals and in the lobbies at night. Serious safety concerns. A tour guide that wont address the concerns other than telling the girls theres no crime here/ go to bed. Same tour guide that lies to me multiple times as my daughter calls me scared with her roommates and tries to force another teenage girl to tell me everything is fine. Add all that to a company that refuses to connect me with someone to discuss the matter with. Disappointing and infuriating.Review from Aruna M

I have had a very negative experience with the EF Educational Tours. I lost a huge amount of money for the tour cancellation due to the pandemic and we were told it would be rescheduled. They deducted a large sum of money for no fault of mine or my child. When I tried to call they were not helpful. All this done to a minor child who only wanted to take a school trip. This has left me struggling financially. It is a very sad state of affairs.Review from Aida L

My first trip with EF Tours to Europe was a complete disappointment. I paid over $5,000 dollars not including the extra money I had to pay for tips and I think I overpayed. First I was never given the credit for signing up early in the process. Secondly the places we stayed at for the exception of the last place were all subpar. The villa we stayed in while in **** was not properly taken care of. Problems during our stay there included toilets that didnt work properly, a door frame that came off, flooding, and bed thats was peed on by a cat that was left in the room after the cleaning personnel was done cleaning. Most of the hotels had non working ACs. Included in the price was breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was fine but most of the dinners were not great. The dinner menu was set and we didnt have choices and the food wasnt always the best. I would had preferred for EF Tours to pay for lunch and I buy my own dinner. The tour guide was excellent and did everything he could to make things better ( the reason for 2 stars). I was there as a traveler but I felt that I did more to help the other travelers than the chaperones. I think EF Tours needs to do a better job training the chaperones and making sure they understand that they are there for the students that they are traveling with because at the end of the day the price we are paying includes their expenses as well. I felt at times that some of the chaperones only cared about themselves and didnt make sure everyone was enjoying the experience. For over a year in a half I was looking forward to the trip but I doubt very much I would take a trip with EF Tours again. Total disappointment!!!!!!!
