West County Equipment Rentals, LLC Response
12/29/2021
When the rental period is over and Mr. ******** is invoiced (Terms net 30) for the equipment that was rented, all invoices are questioned and never paid in the 30 day time frame. Mr. ********’s average payment is received in 45 to 60 days, after several attempt to reach him, and doesn’t pay any of the finance charges that are added to his account. Please see attached email thread (Our email was sent on 09/25/2021 and Mr. ******** never responded until 10/28/2021, 33 days later) from his last rental invoice. Original invoice was for $545.63 and per his email request below we credited his account $181.88 on November 1 2021, leaving invoice balance at $363.75 which he paid on November 23,2021 three weeks after we credited his account. When Mr. ********returned the equipment, he’d never mentioned not using it because it was too wet and never asked us to take one day of his rental period until we started to reach out to him for payment.

Can you take 1 day off this bill and the damage waiver. It was too wet Friday/Saturday, I used it half day Sunday. I don't mind paying 2 days. Every time I say I don't want the damage waiver and then it still gets charged, also it went from 10% to 15%. I don't always do paperwork when I pick stuff up, maybe you have a blanket damage waiver I could sign to cover every time?

Mr. ********has been charged the damage waiver since he has been a customer of West County Equipment. We have discussed this with him several times, but he never produced a Certificate of Insurance until November 23, 2021. On November 23,2021 the damage waiver was removed from his account.
In regards to our equipment, Mr. ******** has had over 20 plus rentals and never complained of any equipment being junk or broken down. If there is ever any equipment that is broke or damaged we repair the equipment before it ever goes out on rent or we don’t rent it. On a couple of occasions Mr. ********has returned equipment with damage but has never been charged for any of the damage.
In regards to Mr. ********’s last attempt to rent equipment, our policy is if the current renter needs the equipment longer than their original contract stated we give them first right to keep the equipment. Mr. ******** was trying to rent a skid steer with a brush hog. We only had one brush hog available for rent at the time of Mr. ********’s request, but we didn’t have a skid steer available for rent. Mr. ******** was told that we would call him when one became available to rent and hope we would have one by the end of the week. We never called Mr. ******** back because the equipment never became available
to rent when he showed up.
In regards to Mr. ********’s claim we are unprofessional and his professionalism he came into our store on December 17,2021 and said he had a skid steer booked and was here to pick it up. He was asked if he received a call on Thursday December 16, 2021 to confirm his rental, he said no, he then stated that they said on Tuesday we might have one for Friday. Our policy is we call 24 hours before the rental to confirm or cancel the reservation. He never had anything booked. He then started yelling at the front desk clerk, saying that West County Equipment is screwing him because of insurance and payment issues in the past. He then started to yell and use profanity in the lobby while another customer was present. He then proceeded to enter our shop area without permission and started yelling at our workers and the owner while continuing to use profanity, he was then told we have the same policy for all our customers. His account has since been closed. We are very sorry we haven’t been able to make Mr. ******** happy over the years.
Thank you,
Craig S******* – Owner
West County Equipment
