On March 12, 2024, my wife and I requested a consultation with Next Day Floors (Dundalk location) to assess and discuss the next steps in installing a prefabricated floor with baseboard in my and my wife's basement. The representative (named - Bob) quoted the installation for $4,398.00, with a $2,000.00 deposit. At this time, we gave the representative the deposit, and he said another would contact us to schedule the installation. It has now been almost two months, and we have not had any resolve the establishment - after several calls to get a status update on the installation and simply requesting a refund, we have not had any success. The only consolation we offered was a discount on the remaining balance without a refund. I have attached a copy of my receipt to support my request. We firmly believe I am entitled to a refund in this situation. I would like to request a full refund of $2,000.00. We hope we can resolve this matter amicably. I would appreciate it if you could assist us in processing the refund as soon as possible. Please let me know if you require any further information from my end. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon and receiving a prompt resolution.Business response

I have reviewed and discussed complaint ID: ******** with the Vice President of Carpet Fair, Inc. d/b/a Next Day Floors and we have decided to refund Mr. ****** the entire amount of the deposit, in the amount of $2000.00. Unfortunately, there was an unforeseen shipping delay with the materials which caused Mr. ******'s flooring to not be installed within a suitable timeframe. For this, he has our apologies and hopefully Mr. ****** will consider us for his future flooring needs.Initial Complaint

I had new vinyl flooring put down in my home on August 16, 2022. There were some issues with the floors being uneven. I was given two options, put plywood down (an additional $3,500) the second option was to use a leveling concrete ($500). But I was told using the concrete would negate my installation warranty. I chose the concrete due to the cost. I had issues with that. It was an option and should not have affected my warranty. The MAJOR problem I have is that I have now found a bottle of water shoved in one of my AC vents and today I found a piece of the carpet padding stuffed dow in another vent. I would not recommend them to anyone!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/01) */ On August 30, Next Day Floor's senior sales manager contacted the customer and sent the installation crew chief out to clean out the vents. On August 31, the same manager reached out to the customer to see if there was anything else that the customer needed; the customer responded "no, but they were keeping the complaint up" (on BBB). Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/09/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) They came and checked my vents by putting their arm in the vent and vacuuming the vents. They did not put any type of instrument down the vent to assure nothing was further down. I accepted this solution and said I hope the vents are truly clean all the way down. I still would not recommend them to anyone.Initial Complaint

Purchased new wood laminate flooring/installation in 2019 for $3000.00. Floors are defective in 3 areas (rising up and chipping) - Tech came out to verify and scheduled repair. Repair folks came out and didn't have enough material. Company ordered material but it was wrong material so the repair folks were unable to complete the 3rd time they were out. We have placed about 50 phone calls to the individual who handles this in the office and we either receive a call back weeks later, and now no response at all. We would just like our floors repaired, or replaced if they are not able to match the material. We would like better communication from this company. This has been going on since February of this year and it is now June.Business response

Next Day Floors installed luxury vinyl tiles at my house on January 29 of 2022. Two weeks later, in February, the glue-down-tiles started popping up. I called the company several times before I received a call back. It took about 10 days for the call-back. They asked me to send photos to them in an email, which I did. The installer who originally put in the floor came to my house with his crew and looked at the floor. By now it had been over three weeks since the floor had been installed. He said he had 20 years experience and these things sometimes happens. Asked me to wait 60 days to see if anymore tiles were going to pop up, which they did. About 30 tiles need to be replaced. It has been 60 days. I called the company last week and someone was supposed to call me back and did not. I called the company again on Tuesday, 4/26, and spoke with the store manager who said the service manager handles complaints and he would have her call me that day. She did not. Nor did I receive a call yesterday, Wednesday 4/27. My warranty on the labor is good for 1 year and it is whittling away while they do not return my calls or schedule the repair. I feel like they are avoiding me. The entire job is paid in full so they have my money and I have a poorly installed floor that I believe they do not want to fix, based on their avoidance-like behavior. I also asked that the warranty start anew from the date of the repair in case this happens again. The store manager also said he does not handle that; the service department will. If you need additional information from me to help settle this problem, please let me know. Sincerely, ********************Business response

I purchased floors from Next Day floors and had them installed back in September. Shortly after installation I began to notice soft spots in the flooring and uneven areas. I reached out to the sales person and was told to call the store for further direction. On 3/4/22 Floyd the manager came out to look at the flooring. He stated the issue was the subfloors and that all my flooring would have to be pulled up for repair. On that same day I spoke with T. S**** from the company and she said she was sending out a senior tech. These were the same two guys that installed the floor and they said I would have to repair the subfloor. I advised them that I was not made aware of this issue prior to installation and this should have been made known. The floor tech told me that the estimated cost of plywood was $2000. I have not been given an explanation as to why I was not made aware the subfloor needed to be replaced. The glue that was used is also visible in several spots which further shows poor workmanship and attention to detail. The company states that they would not charge me labor to pull the floor up and replace, but only for plywood and labor for subfloor. I was told this total would be $5850 which is almost the initial cost of original job. On 3/11/22 I left a message for T. S**** and received no return phone call. On 3/14/22 I told T. S**** I do not want them in my home and am not comfortable paying that price when they could not do the job right the first time. Not to mention the inconvenience of having my floors ripped up again. I asked to have the labor portion of my bill refunded. This is $2300.76. She said she would have to speak with Floyd because she could not authorize that. I left a message for Floyd and have not received a call back. They often fail to return messages and I have to call them back.Business response
