they marketed an open casting call for Stranger Things. I was interested so I reached out to the company and immediately heard back. I was a little suspicious about their response time. I decided to do a little bit of research. this is a known scam. They market themselves as open casters and then when you get in the zoom call they try to get you to pay $99 to sign up for their agency upon further research. Stranger Things is not casting at all as of September 30, 2024 their text message is an emails come through as spam risk if that means anything, I tried to address these issues with one of the representatives and got no reply.

Total scam. Real talent agents work on commission, they do not charge fees. It's illegal to charge someone to audition or for representation from a talent agency.

It is an hour long webinar, not an Open Call. She never once mentioned the monthly fee of $39.95. This was not for me!

They will post open casting call for well known shows to get people to sign up for their webinar in which they continue to only talk about their services. I signed up and joined the call. While on the call I did some research on whether this was a legitimate organization or a scam. I the Q&A box on zoom (they disabled chat most likely for this reason) and asked about what they have to say regarding the bad reviews. Instead of actually answering my questions they sent me 2 links to show the praises they receive. Both were links to their website. I pointed out that anyone over the age of 12 is taught to check your sources. I asked if they were actually going to answer my questions directly or not. This time instead of answering, they kicked me from the call. Im lucky enough to have googled this business before signing the contract. I feel bad for the kids who did. This business is a scam and has apparently already been sued leading to a name change after posting a casting call without permission from the casting company. DO NOT BE FOOLED this company is a SCAM! If they cant directly answer simple questions regarding credibility they should not be trusted!

Absolute Scam. I found a ad on Instagram saying they were doing casting calls for the new season of Stranger Things. Of course, i was like h*** yeah! They set up a Zoom call, and it all seemed fine until they asked me for a one time payment of 99$, and that i had to do it now or wait another 3 months to be able to reapply. They claim they are a well known agency and are working with all these authorized companies, but the truth is, they dont. They want your card info to sell it and use it themselves. Im glad i made the choice to not pay, because they deserve nothing. I want my application i submitted immediately cancelled, my name and my email and everything they have on me. This company is a absolute scam, dont trust a thing they say. When they say the call is all about auditions or anything related to that, all they do in the call is talk about how their company is trusted and how long it has been, they give you useless information the whole call, then ask you to pay 99$ right then. For anyone wanting to get into acting or modeling, I recommend a agent who doesnt ask for you to pay right away, and asks for you to pay when you actually get a gig and are guaranteed to get into it.

We had a group zoom call with all mics muted for the duration of the call. In essence, we could only ask questions in the chat which of course means they can pick and choose what questions to answer. After listening to a young woman talk for almost an hour, I was sent a link to register which automatically included a $99 fee to put together a digital profile for you. They dont help you get headshots or an industry resume put together for free which all reputable agencies will do!I tried repeatedly texting my talent coordinator asking if the $99 was a one time fee. Before the Zoom meeting she was love bombing but after the meeting.crickets. I kept texting her asking if the $99 is a one time fee and she wouldnt answer me. All she said was the fee is for us to build your digital profile. Ok, is it a one time fee? Again, no answer! So shady! I have worked with other agencies before but I thought Id see what ********************** is about anyway. STAY AWAY!!! If you do join, good luck getting ANY work.

My initial review was - If you enjoy the occasional extra/modeling gig, avoid Nine9. They claim to schedule you for an open call casting, but it's actually a meeting with others they're trying to enroll at $99 + $39/monthly fees. ?????????? If they were upfront about this when enticing folks to reach out, I wouldn't feel the need to caution others...NINE9 responded -Hi **,Thanks for sharing feedback from our virtual call. My records show that you rescheduled your virtual call with us but are listed as a no show currently for the rescheduled appointment on 7/8. Our services do benefit talent with casting opportunities and access to workshops for resume development. If you are ever curious about learning more about what we do, please reach out to me directly and I'd be happy to assist to see if Nine9 would be a benefit to you. You can reach me directly at ********************************** Thank you and have a great day!To which I respond - This is blatantly false, I was acknowledged by the person leading the "open casting call" on the rescheduled day (she even answered a couple of my questions) and have screenshots to prove this. As if falsely advertising it as a casting call wasn't bad enough, this response has only raised more red flags about their tactics. Beware.

Just got off the Zoom Meeting with Nine9. They were asking for a one time fee of $99 dollars, but also it was saying they will take $39.99 off every month starting in two weeks. So I asked through the ** chat box if they will be taking it off every month starting in two weeks. She didn't respond to me, then I asked her another question by saying. How long with the site be up in order to pay, because I had to add money to my account. She completely ignored me. Until I asked her if she could see my questions. She responded back by saying yes she San see my questions. Then she said...oh no it must have gotten lost, let me go back to read them. Went back and read them, but only answered the question about how long is the site going to stay up, still didn't answer my question about the $39.99 being pulled off every month. So yes...I'm in agreement with the other people that have came on here saying they are a scam! Yes....NINE9 is In Fact A Scam!!! She simply came out of her mouth and said One Time Fee of $99, but if you just be so quick to go on there and sign up, and don't read that little application you will get scammed!!! Please Pay Attention to the Fine Print of that little application before you give them your card information!!!
