In 2003 I met John and Chris when I contracted with Roberts' Residential Remodeling to finish my basement. They did a great job. Twenty years later I contacted Roberts' again to remodel my kitchen. John and Chris were both still there and remembered me. My kitchen is an odd shape. Instead of three walls with 90 degree corners, I have five walls with 135 degree corners. Working with my sketches, Roberts' did a wonderful job wrapping cabinets around this horseshoe shaped room. The cabinets fit beautifully with no wasted space. I'm not good at selecting colors and textures. John was a big help in selecting wood species, colors, countertops, flooring, and lighting. He didn't do it for me, but he did point me in a better direction when I tried to go astray. Roberts' showroom has examples of all the little things one has to choose from door/drawer profiles and hardware, and countertop and flooring samples. The project's contract clearly described their and my responsibilities. Where changes happened, options were made clear and documented. Once construction started, I worked with Chris on an almost daily basis. He was on site to answer my questions and to make sure the right people were there. Roberts' carpenters were meticulous in their detail. Roberts' has subcontractors that they clearly work with regularly. Chris gave me a schedule of work when the job started. Even though there were a couple surprises during demolition and I had a couple of changes along the way, that schedule worked out pretty well. All in all, I am extremely happy with my new kitchen (and my 20 year old basement). I'm still excited every time I walk in.
