On February 27, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11 (b)(1)(8)(9); 326B.33; 326B.809; 326B.84 (4)(14)(15) (2022) and Minn. R. 2891.0040, subp. 1H (2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to ensure all contracts and change orders with Minnesota property owners are in writing and comply with Minn. Stat. 326B.809 (2022) and have the appropriate building permits for their construction projects before beginning work and request all inspections in a timely manner. The business also agreed to cease and desist from performing or offering to perform electrical work in Minnesota until the required license and bonding are completed and to ensure that all subcontractors are properly licensed. The business further agreed to provide reasonable supervision over all their residential construction projects in Minnesota and complete all work listed in their contracts and change orders with written notice of completed work provided to owners and/or their insurance company before requesting final payment or release of insurance proceeds.  The business agreed to be prohibited from seeking or accepting final payment until all contracted work is completed and approved.  The business will also pay $2,000.00 of a $5,000.00 fine, with the balance stayed  on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
