    My employer only allowed the use of Amplifon Hearing Aids. I was given a phone number to call to initiate purchase of Hearing Aids. I made an appt, and they ordered hearing aids for both ears, based on my hearing loss. I met with their representative in an office in St. Cloud, FL. It looked like a temporary office, as there was one room, and one representative in that office. They took time to fit me for hearing aids for both ears. My hearing loss is substantial, due to Cholestiatoma tumors that had to be removed from my hearing bones/canals, etc. I went back to the office several times, to get them to fit properly.....they didn't fit, and were very uncomfortable. I was told to look for a ear clip that might help to keep them in place. I was also sold cleaning tools and replacement items, and substantial costs. I had several appts, and the same lady helped me with my fitting, and the hearing settings needed for my hearing aids. She never got them to work correctly, they made alot of ringing noises, and screaching sounds in both ears. Very uncomfortable. I went to a local Hearing Aid co (Beltone) and they ordered new Hearing Aids that actually work, and they allow me to hear. Amplifon never provided a working hearing aid, but they did confirm I had 3 year warranty. I couldn't wear them. I was fitted for hearing aids at Beltone yesterday. I can hear, and they fit. (they cost me nearly 5,000.00) I have 30 days to see if they will work for me, but already, I can hear, and realized that Amplifon never was the right solution for me. Now I've got Amplifon from my insurance at work, but they don't work and I can't hear with them (they have high pitched noises and they don't stay in my ear.. There is no further help from Amplifon. How can they get away with charging my insurance over 6000.00 for something that doesn't work? How can we get Amplifon to make this right? I have 30 days to use Beltone - to get refunded they amt paid. Please advise.
