            On 10/8/2022 we stayed at the Comfort **************************** Room 324 at ****************** in Hannibal, ********. There were several issues with this room.1: It was missing the smoke detector, all that was there was the plate on the wall that the smoke detector is supposed to attach to.2: There was a battery powered alarm clock on the nightstand that had a dead battery and did not work at all.3: All the drawers in the room were quite dirty and needed to be vacuumed out. The sitting chair in the room was dirty and appeared to have not been vacuumed in quite some time. I also saw an area of carpet that had some stuff on it and apparently was not vacuumed before we took possession of the room. There was a very small stain on one of the bed sheets. My main concern is that this hotel is not well equipped for a fire emergency. When we first checked in at the lobby, I noticed some of the fire sprinklers had the plate covers falling off of them. As previously stated, our room at 324 did not have a smoke detector, it just had the plate on the wall that the smoke detector is supposed to attach to. I also noticed the smoke detectors in the halls appeared to be more than 10 years old based on yellowing and the bulkiness of them, they do not look like smoke detectors I have seen in the last ************************************************************************************ room 324. I also have additional photos of the non-working alarm clock and the uncleanliness I previously mentioned.

            I don't go through the trouble of filing a complaint very often but when I do it is because there is a serious problem. I would give this hotel (1/2 star if that was an option). This hotel was a total scam as we were driving in the car and called to inquire about the room rates and were advised $91 per night before taxes. We decided to go ahead and book the rooms because they stated there were only 4 rooms left. When we got to the hotel, it clearly wasn't anywhere near full. When I checked in, I realized that I forgot to provide my Comfort **************************** reward number so I provided my card and she didn't even look at it and handed it back & said that she had already handled? When we went for breakfast the next day, there was only one yogurt out so we asked if there was anymore & we were told yes but when she came back to our table she only had one yogurt in her hand instead of the three requested. I guess they ration yogurt. It wasn't until the next day when we went to check out and we both asked for receipts and we were told that they couldn't print a receipt for us but they would send us a receipt. This is not an acceptable business practice to not be provided a receipt after you have paid for something. We started driving home and we both received a text message with a receipt but upon review (for the same type of room with no additional charges - no movies, no pets, no food/snacks purchased), I was charged $124.63 and the other party with us was charged $140.70 which included not only taxes but another $15.99 service fee. We were never advised of this additional fee.PLEASE WHAT EVER YOU DO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY AS THIS HOTEL WAS OLD, DIRTY AND NOT HANDLED PROFESSIONALLY. THE ***** QUOTED WAS A SCAM! RECEIPTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE GIVEN TO A PAYING CUSTOMER WHEN THEY CHECK OUT.
