We tried to purchase a second adult dog from Jerics. Sent a deposit for half of the purchase price 2 1/2 months ago with the understanding we would get a specific dog. Two weeks before we were to pick the dog up, the owner said she had another dog available and we could pick between the two. Then, two days before we were to go, she Facebooked us and said only one dog was available; not the original dog. When we texted her to discuss, she called back and became very curt and told us she wouldn't sell either dog to us. Not any way to treat your customers.

    Jeric's Kennels Response

I did contact the customer about the possibility of adopting an older girl.  I knew they were concerned about the girl that they had from me being upset because they had lost the male that was her friend.  A price was agreed upon.  But I was told that if I couldn't keep the dog from the first of April until the first of July that would be a deal breaker.  I did agree as I was concerned about the first girl also.  She had never been a single dog.  They mailed me 1/2 the money as a deposit.  The check is dated April 7, 2022.  I did not cash the check as that is my policy.  I hold the check for two weeks as per my contract.  During those two weeks I will give a full refund if the dog doesn't work out.  I did not mail them a contract as I wasn't concerned as they have a contract from the first girl, they got from me.  So, they know my terms.  The contract is useless until signed by both parties.  I was busy  with the boarding kennel and a litter of puppies.  Just didn't think it was another deal breaker.   I did offer the choice of another girl as a curtesy.  This second girl is smaller and doesn't play as ruff.  She had been bred and didn't conceive and I had decided that I wasn't going to try to breed her again.  She is healthy otherwise.   The original girl did come in season and I let them know.  I did suggest that the second girl might be a better choice.  The customer has never seen either of these girls.  I did not say that they couldn't have the original female.  I even stated that it was their decision.  I then got a very curt note from them explaining what the deal was.   I have just had it.  I have bent over backwards to try to please.  They on the other hand have never found it convenient to even come and look at the dog.  Other things have always been in the way.  Personal things.  This last note was, as they say, the straw that broke the camel's back.   If they can't find time in their busy schedule to come and at least see the dog from April-end of June, they must not be committed to owning a second dog.   First Last and ALWAYS is the well-being of my dogs.   If you want to call this sellers remorse you sure can.  I should have put a stop to it with the first DEAL BREAKER.  My mistake that I didn't.
