Management always takes a defensive position, and always brings up equipment replacement cost, and how large contracts first priority, regardless of why you are contacting him. I don't know how much a plow blade is, and I don't care. I'm not responsible for it, and it should already been included in the costs of doing business, and the equipment depreciation should be considered. I realize I am just the little guy, but I don't need to constantly be reminded of it. Management tries to require you to use more of his services, like fertilization and aeration. He reported it was to keep the lawn from growing too much, and the company needing to cut tall grass. I was told if I didn't use the service, my normal business with the company would be discontinued. The cost to the homeowner for fall cleanup increases approx. +/- 20% each year, far over the cost of inflation, and there is no estimate or quote provided. My lawn is less than 3400 sq. ft., and the charges were up to an alarming $480 this year for raking and leaf disposal. Snow removal is charged by the total snow depth. However, sometimes the plowing is done soon after the snow has started falling, rather than when it stops. Cost to the consumer is not the depth at the time the snow plowed, but the depth of the recorded total accumulation. They plow 2", but you have to pay for 4-6" which is approx. $150, then still have to scoop it yourself.
