I have never posted a review like this, but I need to make sure nobody else makes the mistake of hiring ***************************** of ********** Handyman Services, like I did.I did my due diligence, and read many stellar ****** reviews. I spoke to him, appreciated his claimed experience and he seemed like a nice, trustworthy guy. I met him, spoke to him at length about the list of items I needed done, such as replacing a walkway, replacing doors, replacing or extending my deck, etc. I was happy with all he had to say about my needs, ideas, and even about my budget. He seemed genuinely excited to work on the project and had some good ideas on how to approach things. I felt relieved to have found someone who could handle all the different aspects of the job, and someone who seemed like he'd be easy to work with.Little did I know, after that initial meeting and the following, when he came to collect my money, he never exhibited another moment of honesty, dependability or integrity. In the 5 months since I hired him, not a single thing has been completed. The little work he started, has been left incomplete, and certainly doesn't seem to have been done by a professional. The guy left a hole in the middle of my ceiling and didn't even have enough respect for me or pride in his own work to ever fix it. He strung me along day after day, week after week, month after month. Promising me over and over that he'd show, that items were going to be completed by this day and this day- then he would fail to show or even respond to me. In 5 months, he only came to work 5 times, and never more than a few hours. I was very patient and understanding for the first couple of months. I believed every line of bull he fed me, all his family and professional woes. I begged him to not make a fool of me and he assured me, over and over, that he never would. Even when I started really getting frustrated, I was always very nice and respectful, to the point that he often thanked me and made up more excuses. Turns out, I was just a **** fool, slow to believe the worst, and I don't want anyone else feeling like that at his hands.I feel like he targeted me, like he thought because I am a nice, single mom, that it would be easy to just take my money and run, especially since he knew I didn't have extra money to chase him down. And, that's what he did- he stole my money. And he did it slowly, stringing me along for months, promising he was going to finish everything and make it right, claiming to be a nice person who'd had some bad luck and a crazy schedule.Turns out, he is simply a thief. There's just no other word for it, no excuse for what he's done, how he handled himself, and how he treated me. I've begged him to finish the things he started, I've begged him to fix the things he broke, and I've begged him to return my money. None of that happened.*************************, aka ********** Handyman Service, stole $9000 from me, lied to me over and over and over again about anything and everything, and acted unprofessionally, both in his demeanor and his workmanship. Even the little work he did, seems more like the work of a newbie with no experience, no pride in his work and no idea how to do things correctly. It was seriously disappointing after hearing about his decades of experience.I have also learned that he doesn't even have the proper registration to work as a contractor in **. His failure to register with the ** ******** of ******** Affairs, and his failure to offer a legally acceptable contract to clients are actually both violations of the ** Contractors' Registration Act and the ** ******** Fraud Act.Please don't let him do this to you or anyone else. You will thank me when you hire someone who actually does the work and does it well.
