This happened in Kitchen Fabulous Hazlet showroom I ordered a quartz countertop and when it arrived, they had already cut the piece down the side, in the middle of a flat surface so that there is a long clear seam where it was cut. Normally, if you have to piece two slabs together, you would make the cut down through the sink area so that the appearance is minimal. However, the seller made their own decision to cut the quartz countertop down a large clean surface and never discussed this with me beforehand. They never even tried to consult me once! By the time I saw the countertop, it was already installed and they gave me no opportunity to change it. When I told them the issue, they completely avoided blame and admitted no fault when this is 100% their responsibility as a professional contractor. I spent $8,000 for 123 sq ft and now they're charging me $2,000 to replace 8 sq ft - that's 25% of the original cost to replace only 6% of the original size. Huge rip off!My kitchen has been offline for over a month with no sink, water, or countertops. This is going to delay me by another month, and of me having to use the bathroom sinks for regular household chores. My living situation and sanity have deteriorated significantly as a result, and as a 65 year old woman with no one but my 70 year old husband to help me, we just can't live like this anymore. Zero communication and terrible service. Extremely unprofessional.
