Our 2 year old son needed dental care. He had a bad tooth where the nerve was exposed and he was in pain. In order to schedule the appointment where he would be put under general anesthesia they needed 615 dollars up front just to schedule. This amount would not go to the cost of the procedure at all. Then we were told there would be 3 separate bills. One for the appointment, one for the dental work & one for the anesthesia. Being the worried parent I just said ok. Well anesthesia called after they ran my insurance and said our out of pocket total was going to be 600 dollars. I paid right then and there as they said they needed payment prior to our 2 year old sons procedure. Well 15 minutes later we get a call back from the same person saying oh so sorry for the mix up but you need to pay 1100 dollars more or else we cannot commit to to the procedure. I called the dentists office to see what the mix up was and they were extremely rude and it felt like they were holding our 2 year old sons care that he absolutely needed hostage. It wasn't about the money it was the feeling they gave us and the entire situation made us feel uneasy. I said we were going to see another dentist and that this was not something we wanted them to move forward with. They said are you sure you don't want to "sit on it for a while".......... They gave me my money back and we were seen at a much nicer office the next day where the care they gave my son was much better and the office was much nicer about everything and explained everything up front from the start with no wishy washy back and forth. I would stay away from this office if you can.
