On January 8, 2022 I took my cat ***** Boy to Rolling HIlls. He was seen by *************. I told her he was not eating and was extremely lethargic. I emphasized he was on in-door cat who had gotten outdoors and had remained under a neighbor's deck for several hours until I could coax him out. ************** examined *****, had his temperature taken. Her diagnosis was that my cat had a minor ear infection and that he was basically a "healthy" cat. When I protested that I knew my cat, and that his behavior was NOT at all normal and that I thought there was something much more serious going on, she dismissed my concerns and repeated that all signs indicated that he was basically healthy.I want to emphasize that no bloodwork was done. The diagnosis was made on the basis of taking ******* temperature and a physical exam. ************** said there was noneed for blood tests. She prescribed some ear drops. ***** was also given two injections of medications in his muscle.By Monday, not only was ***** still not eating and very lethargic, he was also limping badly on his left side. I left a message for ************** and when she returned my call I expressed concern about the pronounced limp, and asked if the infections could have caused this. To my horror, ************* said she had not given ***** the injections, nor had she supervised them. The injections had been given by a vet tech. She seemed defensive, and said intra-muscular injections could cause TEMPORARY stiffness. ******* limp was NOT temporary. After 10 days not only does the limp remain, he is unable to jump or push off with with left legs. I have now read on ****************** biography that her primary love is horses. It was apparent to me that she was not particularly knowledgeable or good with cats. I had come on an after hours (12:30 PM, when the clinlic normally closed at noon). ************** did not seem to want to put in the time to have bloodwork and tests taken.******* condition continued to worsen, so I took him to another vet, Dr,. ***** at ************************* When I mentioned what had occurred at Rolling Hills, one of the staff was clearly appalled and said the injections given should NOT have been done by a vet tech. I fear ***** has permanent muscle/nerve damage. My experience at ************************ was dramatically different. ************** listened very carefully to everything I said, and after an examination, ordered blood work. The results showed that ***** had an intestinal infection, and elevated white blood cell count. A course of anti-biotics were prescribed. Unfortunately, ***** was so despondent and lethargic that he completely refused to eat. He appears to have pain in his left leg, and does not want to walk at all. Despite two subsequent visits to ************************, my beloved cat, who was pronounced "healthy" at Rolling Hills, will not have to be euthanized.Everything at Rollings was botched. From the failure to take my concerns seriously, to the failure to do bloodwork, and worse of all the injections that were obviously administered improperly.I would never take another of my animals to Rolling Hills, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.
