On July 22, 2024, I purchased Container One to purchase a 40' high-top wind and water tight container via rent to own option. I was told the I would have the container delivered within 15 days. It was delivered on August 22, 2024. One month later. Upon delivery, I had to meet the driver, ****, at the end of the road to bring him back to my house. He rolled his window down and started telling me the door was hard to close but he would show me how to do it and fix anything that needed to be fixed. He then followed me back and unloaded the container. The ground he unloaded on was perfectly level. It had been laser leveled just a couple of weeks prior. I took a video of him beating on the door with a hammer for 4 minutes trying to get it closed. I signed the delivery sheet, and notated the issue with the door. The total cost for this container will be over $10,000 when I am finished paying for it. I did not think it was fair to be delivered something that costs that much, and the man tells me I can get a grinder and cut something off. Fast forward, he came back out to help fix it 4 or 5 *****. It's impossible to fix. I have been in contact with both companies the entire time. Today, Container One called and absolutely lied to me. He said he was told I couldn't get the container level, and I wanted to cancel my contract. I told him that wasn't true. He then said my *** contract had been canceled. Also a lie. I called the *** company to verify after. He then said that they would give me $1000 off if I paid them $3500 in cash today because my *** contract is in repossession. Again, it is not. My contract is on hold waiting on Container One to figure out a fair solution to this issue. I also want to add that the driver asked me to tell them he did get it fixed when they called. Absolutely not. I'm not paying $10,000 for something that has been broke since it arrived. The doors have never shut. All of my belongings are getting wet. Mice are getting in. Just make it right.Business response

The issue with the unit is that the door is sprung due to it being on uneven ground and customer unwillingness to lift a corner up to level out the doors. I have attached and also sent customer the attached picture as proof it was uneven at time of delivery. You can see a hump of dirt right in the center of frame and both corners not contacting the ground so in no way was it level. Sure weeks later in ***** soil they settled into he ground so you cant see a gap as bad but the initial tweak still needed adjusted.
Another issue is driver has been trying to come out a 3rd time with his trailer to pick the container up front side and customers lack of response until yesterday has caused delays. Driver had messaged customer over 2 weeks ago to call him which was never done. 2nd time driver came out he only showed up with ground jacks that couldn't lift the loaded container so he had to make arrangements to come back out a 3rd time when customer is on site to unload an item that may fall over when he picks up the front of the container to shim a corner to properly align the doors. We generally don't do this but driver was trying to be helpful to resolve an issue as it is 400 miles round trip.
Since Customer did rent to own through a 3rd party and hadn't made any payments on the container and wasn't willing to swap the unit and driver hadn't been back out to level it due to lack of communication with driver, the rent to own company advised us that best route would be to pick the unit up. Upon calling customer to give options we offered a hefty discount at face value and driver would still come out and assist (which was denied). Other option was us coming to pick it up the container was also denied by customer. After this conversation Contact was made with **** to own company where they offered a discount which was denied by customer. We cant do much untill paymets ar figured out as no one has been paid.Initial Complaint

Purchase a 40 foot shipping container from Containerone.net on 07/22/2024 Opted for the wind and water tight unit for a price of $2933 These containers can not be looked at before purchase so you have to trust the company to send what is ordered. 08/01/2024 the container was delivered, with another one on the truck, making it impossible to inspect it until it was off loaded. Upon inspection it was clear that it had been leaking during the drive. The door seals had spray foam all around them and it still leaked. There is a small hole in the side that leaks as well. I tried to deny delivery, but was refused the option and told I had to fill out a warranty form for their 1 year no leak guarantee. This was leaking before delivery. I jumped through all their hoops, sending photos, making a video from inside the unit with doors shut and water being sprayed onto it, places chalk lines around where leaks were, and still they do not honor their warranty. This seems like a bait and switch, as they claim the unit will arrive wind and water tight, but it did not. The falsely claim a 1 yr no leak guarantee, when the only resolution they offer is for me to fix it myself with some kit they will send out for the door seals and the hole, but nothing for the bolts leaking. After spending nearly $3000 I should not be hiring someone to fix the unit immediately upon delivery. This is not something you can easily fix, it is not returnable, and the company does not stand by any of their claims. They should not be allowed to sell one product and give you another. I never would have spent the extra cost to get a container from them, when there are less expensive options, but I thought the guarantee was worth the extra money. Unfortunately, I am stuck with this container on my property that is useless to me if it isn't dry inside. The company does not honor their word, no one will speak on the phone, and at most they will send 1 email a day, so it is a lengthy, useless process.Business response

We have received your claim and are still waiting on you for more info on the door seals to address this claim correctly. You show them leaking with what seems to be hose angled not simulating a natural environment but regardless the water is traveling down the door seal as designed and draining off the angled door pan not coming into your unit where anything would be stored. As for the pin holes this has been addressed via our warranty and we will continue to honor it. Looking forward to resolving this once you get the claims department what is needed to continue your claim and address any issues.Customer response

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID 22099819, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of my decision appear.I have sent them everything asked for and every time I complete their task they ask for something more. The door seals are no good and the bolt holes are leaking as well, which never get addressed. There are gaps where you can clearly see light coming in and in video and pictures has been shown with leaking all around doors and through the holes and bolts. Also, the warranty is to be water tight, so saying water is only inside the doors, which isn’t accurate, means it isn’t water tight and it was delivered to me this way, which is not what I ordered. Warranty is useless and customers are not repairmen and should not told to fix it themselves.

I called and spoke with a salesman about purchasing a shipping container on 7/25. He verbally assured me that it would be delivered in 7-10 days. He sent the email invoice on 7/25, I paid it on 7/26. I was contacted by phone on Monday 7/29 and informed that my container would not be here for 14 BUSINESS days. I informed the dispatcher about my conversation with the salesman, so she had him call me. He called me a liar and hung up on me after I requested a refund since 3 weeks out was NOT what he had promised me. I received a partial refund today, 8/1/24, that was $350 less than I had paid. I emailed and asked for a full refund and was informed that delivery dates are "estimates only" and that they would not refund me the full amount, even though I was verbally assured it would be here sooner. This is a classic bait and switch and is shady and dishonest. A verbal contract is a contract and should either be honored or I should be given a full refund.Business response

You bought a 40HCCW from us out of the ********* location which has been at a 5 to 15 days delivery window from date of purchase, which this is the timeframe you where told in the welcome call. You then decided to cancel your order within 2 business days of placing it with us. In our terms and conditions you agreed to we have a cancelation fee of $350 for this process. Looks like we had everything ready and our logistics department would've been reaching out to to start setting up a delivery possibly even before your shorter timeframe. If you wish to order again with us we can credit you back the cancelation fee and continue on with your order.Customer response

Their response was not true. Their logistics office did in fact reach out to me and told me to expect delivery in 14 business days, which was the reason I canceled the order. Also, I was never given nor did I ever agree to the terms they are referring to that included a $350 cancellation fee. The timeframe I was given by their sales manager was 7-10 days, never was it even mentioned that the delivery date could be 15 days out. Their response is completely fabricated and is not what actually happened. I canceled the order only after they informed me that the delivery window I was promised of 7-10 days was not going to be met.

The shipping containers are advertised as used in good working condition however as seen in the photos the door rods are severely bent and the door can not be closed without severe force which requires additional tools or an extremely well built husky strong person which I am not as I'm 50 yrs old and not a body builder even though I can still carry a full 4x8 sheet of plywood so I'm not a wimp by all means, I purchased 2 of them and one works great as it should no issues the other one which is in the position of being my main entry is impossible for me to open and close daily. I filed a complaint and they simply stated since the driver (who is husky and well built) can close it with force that it is not covered as a warranty issue. I either need the doors fixed or a replacement container as this one is not in operating order as I can't open and close it under my own power. the photos clearly show that the door rods were hit and bent and should be fixed before delivery of such a unit to any customer.Business response

You received a Used container not a New 1trip so they will have more industry use wear and tear from normal international and international shipping. Our driver was able to open close these door several times before they where delivered to you and at delivery. Also when delivering your second container a driver even showed you they work under his own power not using tools so the doors actually do work properly. If you would like to possibly upgrade or have units swapped this is an option that will be a charge. If you would like to do this just reach out to your salesperson and we can get you squared away.Customer response

You stated the driver could open and close the door in your reply, the first and second driver were both young husky guys and the first driver never closed the door fully that I recall and he did state that the door needs repair to work properly, I'm 50 years old and I'm not husky but I'm not a wimp either and I'm saying I can't physically close the door once open unless massive additional force is used which the listing I purchased said that the container is in good working condition and this container the doors are not. I own and operate my business and this is not how you treat a customer that has a faulty item. Its up to you on how you want to proceed from here going forward but this container is unacceptable as in working order as I can't close the doors and I want to use it daily.

Purchased 2-40hcwwt to be delivered - day of delivery driver got stuck and pulled container across driveway . He said he would not deliver other container - I tried to call sales - - ***** would not call me back n directed me to logistics via text - ******* from logistics text me and demanded me to resolve the issue of the delivery driver being stuck . I had no one in logistics or sales give me any information on what will occur on delivery of the other container .I called container one general number ask to speak with general manager and he was not available but the owner was available so I rcvd his number. The owner was accommodating and respectful at first - he said that the driver would not deliver the other container - I told him I wanted it on my grass on front of property and he can assess the ground to ensure he doesnt get stuck . Container one ***** the owner said that the delivery driver was an independent contractor and my contract was with truck driver even though I didnt hire him container one did. The driver came out to deliver the other container I told him to put it on the grass by the other container - I was on a business call. And looked out my rear view mirror and the truck driver was taking pictures of container he asked me to sign delivery slip I refused because he put container in the street - I told him thats not where I said to put it I said grassy part on my property . He ran to his truck and put the truck in reverse and burned his tires As he drive backward down the street to main road . I called owner of container one he said that its not his responsibility to male the truck driver to come back - I am demanding an ****** as I had to rent a ************** 325 to move other container from public street to my property thank youBusiness response

Yes driver did get stuck on the first delivery at your transgression of as where you wanted them to try to deliver, it was to wet and soft. but tried anyways and got stuck for 9 hours while you left him on the property alone to go to party and could not be reached by anyone at our company or drivers. Our terms say' During the delivery process, the customer is able to request a specific location to drop the container. If a delivery truck gets stuck during the delivery of customers **********************/order, the customer is fully responsible for getting the delivery truck out or towed." and we didn't charge you the fees to get him unstuck on the first delivery so that was a plus for you.
Deliver of the 2nd container customer said we could drop it in front of the other unit which put the container in the road a little. When driver got there she asked him to try again to put where she wanted and driver told her no he would get stuck again and we already arranged where he could put it. She also upset that he will not move an R.V for her which i snot what we are their to do we deliver containers. Customer refused to sign the inspection sheet and was yelling at driver that she has no way to move the containers. She told us she was going to get a crane to place the units after delivery.
It is unfortunate you set up deliveries with soft ground on site that wasn't suited for truck and trailers to traverse. We are happy you have your containers and moved where they need to be.Initial Complaint

My VFW ordered and 40' Container from Container One, this exerp is taken from their site.(Our ************ Tight (WWT) shipping containers are used and will have rust, minor dents and previous repairs. All prices include delivery to the zip code you specified. Price includes our industry-leading 5-year structural guarantee in addition to our 1-year no-leak guarantee). We made a claim to Container One, they proceeded to send us too a warranty ***** there is nothing mentioned that if there is a problem that we would get a video and a self sticking patch, of which doesn't fix leaking welds on the structure.Business response
05/20/2024
Yes we do offer a warranty 5-year structural guarantee in addition to our 1-year no-leak guarantee which we will continue to honor. For a small pinhole that opens up yes we do send a great patch kit that is super easy and fast to put on. This is a better solution to Sealant or Welding as it will last longer. Please see our term and conditions you agreed to when purchasing the container, that states we send a patch for small hole, "CONTAINER ONE WILL SEND ISO (INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ORGANIZATION) APPROVED PERMANENT PATCHES IN CASE OF A HOLE." Please if you have any further claims to reach out to our warranty department and we will assist you.

I ordered a "Wind and Watertight" used shipping container from Container One. A few days after the delivery there was a light rainstorm, and it was discovered that there is a significant hole in the roof of the container with a substantial leak. This was obviously a long-standing issue, as the floor of the container beneath the leak has been replaced. When I contacted Container One about the issue, they offered to send a sticker patch along with minimal instructions ( a three minute tutorial video and a 6 step application process that included steps such as "remove the patch from the packaging"), and for me to apply it myself. The guarantee of Container One States:"CONTAINER ONE WILL REPAIR OR CAUSE TO BE REPAIRED ANY EQUIPMENT WITHIN THIS GUARANTEE PERIOD THAT DOES NOT MEET THE CONDITIONS ABOVE. THIS GUARANTEE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE COSMETIC APPEARANCE OF CONTAINERS. CONTAINER ONE WILL SEND ISO (INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ORGANIZATION) APPROVED PERMANENT PATCHES IN CASE OF A HOLE. PURCHASER IS AWARE THAT ALL CONTAINERS ARE USED CONTAINERS AND ALL USED CONTAINERS WILL HAVE SURFACE RUST, DENTS, AND SCRATCHES, DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR DUE TO USE IN THE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ENVIRONMENT."Note it stated that it will "Repair or cause to be repaired" and "and " will send ISO approved permeant patch". No where does it state that the customer will be responsible to enact the repairs personally. The container was defective on arrival and container one refuses to "Repair or cause to be repaired" the shipping container I purchased, insisting that I am capable of performing the repair personally. I am not comfortable attaching the patch in a way the will ensure a correct and long term repair and request the Container One send a qualified individual with the proper tools and training to enact the repair on my container.Business response

This is a duplicate of review 31999. We have already addressed this issue within our claims department for a small hole that opened up after delivery. Our Warranty claims that we would send a ISO patch which we have done. They are very easy to apply, with the very simple steps and video that was sent. We will still continue to stand behind the one year warranty so let our ***************** know if you have any more claims or issues and we can continue to assist you.Customer response

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of my decision appear below.
This is not a duplicate of the review; this is a complaint following your refusal to address the issue brought up in the review. You have not addressed this complaint and have not satisfactorily addressed the review. I have tried working with you through e-mail,. Your advertisement said you send me a watertight container, not that you would send me a leaky container with materials and instructions on how to repair it. You have assured me that you are "confidant in my capability" to repair the leak with the patch provided, ignored my reasonable request that you provide someone to perform the repair, and shipped an adhesive patch to me with instructions on how to apply it.I find this solution unacceptable. I paid thousands of dollars for a used but fully functional container; you provided a container with a significant leak and have not assumed any responsibility to "repair or cause to be repaired" as your guarantee states. You have refused my reasonable request to send an individual out to perform the repair and have refused to pay for me to hire an individual to perform the repair. These are both completely reasonable requests as I specifically ordered a "Wind and Watertight (WWT)" container. You are responsible for ensuring your product is what you advertised, I could have bought a used/damaged container for half the price I paid for this wind and watertight container.

Container One are sloppy in business and shipping. They made a mistake of ordering the wrong size shipping container and when I caught it and straightened out THERE mistake and paid the difference. Then they broke there trailer delivering it, it took 4 hours to deliver from start to finish. Can't believe it was checked twice before I got it and NO ONE caught it was a smaller size then what I ordered.INCOMPETENT!!!!I'm looking for a portion or all of my money back and they can come pick up there mistake. I'm out of pocket for time and materials for there mistakes and they gave me a $53 refund for the difference in size. I want more back or they can come get it back. I'm so frustrated and I don't know if this was deliberate or accidental. I know I'm the loser here and I need compensated or refunded completely!! Just covering the difference is not enough. Bait and switch !!Business response

*****,
The order was originally placed for 40STCW then switch to a 40HCCW, which was corrected on 2/21. On 3/21 after a month of fighting bad weather and ground conditions when loading at yard a mistake was made and our driver didn't catch the mistake of a foot shorter container being loaded. That was in no way intended to happen and in no way was a bait an switch. We already talked about this on 3/29, You agreed to keep the 40 standard height container and get the refund of the difference which we already did do this for you so we did compensate for the mix up. Thought that this was the dealt with on 3/29 when we talked you would keep that 40ST container and that you would order more when ground is good and dry.
As far as delivery taking way to long yes we agree with that. Location you wanted it on your property was way to wet and you even said to me on 3/29 you probably should've told us wait until ground conditions got better. This should've been told to us before we sent a driver all the way out to your property and not set a delivery up with bad ground conditions. I know you want it fast and we want to get it to you quickly but ground condition is key with large delivery like this or issue like this occur. Driver even broke his trailer axel sliding down a hill on your property as ground conditions where not good. Driver did have to replace an entire axel because of this. I am just happy you where able to get container unloaded and truck pulled out and not incur a tow bill for stuck truck or a trucking charge for not being able to deliver due to bad ground conditions that you said where good.
We are more then happy to work with you in the future and get you more containers when your ground is good enough to drive on and not get our trucks stuck or damage equipment on bad ground.Customer response

On March 20, 2024 purchased via online qty 1 40' container. Vendor stated they do not hold inventory and would send the order to the "yard" to see when one can be delivered. Stated deliver for next day, then called back stating in 1 week, 1 week later contacted ****** who stated it would be delayed, cancelled order. ****** claims to have refunded all but $350 for a "restocking fee" when I explained they hold no stock, they changed the conversation to cancellation fee. ******,
Our normal lead time is roughly 10 business days as an average timeframe you canceled your order within the 10 days period window when we already had a unit ready at the yard to start setting up delivery to you. So yes due to cost incurred to us and you canceling your order early there is a cancelation fee as our terms and conditions states. You could've not have canceled and had a container delivered to you.

On 3/21/2024 I had a "Cargo Worthy" shipping container being delivered to my residence. Prior to unloading, I noticed that it had 2 (major) parallel indentations in the roof where it had obviously been crushed in by a high-capacity forklift. These indentations measured approximately 5' in length 3'' in depth, resulting in a significant reduction of interior clearance. I called the vendor, Container One, to report this issue an and obtain an alternate container with only "Minor dents" as advertised in writing on their website. The representative refused to send out a replacement and instead offered suggestions of how I might go about making repairs to the container in order to bring it up to the advertised condition. The representative also explained that the container could be refused for a refund minus a $950 restocking fee. Being that the items to be stored would not clear the crushed portion of the container, I had no choice but to refuse the container and purchase from another supplier.Business response

*******,
Our description says they can have dents, rust, and previous repairs. Nothing you turned this container away for was against CW certification. Looks like a normal industry used Cargo Worthy container to us. Because you turned it away for no viable reason yes there are cancelation and trucking fees involved (listed in our Terms and conditions you agreed to when purchasing). If you do order with us again we can credit the cancelation fees but not originally truck costs.Customer response

Container One has submitted a response and/or proposal to resolve this complaint. The details are as follows:
We still stand behind our decision the dents you have been stating are bad are not at all and are common dents this probably happened just from other container being stacked during shipments. The dents didn't comprise the container strength or hurt any frame just indented the top roof corrugation in 2 spots. The dent still rest higher then the door frame itself not interfering with with loading or unloading the container. They are used for international shipping for years gathers dents rust, and patches. This unit will still pass as cargo worthy just as our Description says. You opted to return it with fees.
