I hired Wotawa Contracting in March to build a deck for my home. Unfortunately, my experience with them was extremely disappointing and frustrating. From the beginning, there were safety concerns regarding the construction of the deck. When I raised these concerns with Isaac, the owner, he became argumentative and defensive instead of addressing the issues constructively. Things took a turn for the worse when the county building inspector arrived and halted the project. It turned out that Wotawa Contracting had not pulled the required permit as clearly stated in our contract, and the deck was not being constructed up to code. Despite repeated reminders and chances, Isaac failed to secure the necessary permit or even apply for it, which led to me ultimately canceling the contract. To add to the ordeal, Wotawa Contracting not only refused to take responsibility for their actions but also stole materials that I had already paid for. Their negligence even caused damages to my house during the failed construction process. Due to their lack of accountability, I had no choice but to pursue legal action. Thankfully, the court ruled in my favor, and I was awarded the full amount I had requested to cover the damages and losses incurred from this ordeal. Overall, my experience with Wotawa Contracting was nothing short of a nightmare. Their failure to adhere to contractual obligations, poor construction practices, and lack of accountability resulted in significant inconvenience and financial loss for me. I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring them to proceed with extreme caution.
