BEWARE-deceptive billing practices. I'm from Fl & was in Cleve due to a family issue. I ran out of my diabetes meds&needed refills before i went back in 2 wks. I made appt letting them know just needed diabetes meds ¬hing else will be going back shortly to Fl. Was home &recvd a bill for my Serivices. Was in shock They billed $622.00 for a doctors appt. i only had a $40. copay according to my insurance policy. But the Cleveland clinic bills as an outpt clnic and i have a $!71.85 balance from this appt after paying my $40.00 copay. Found out 1 of the things was 2 charges of $204.00 each for Behav Assmt W/Score & Docd/Stand Instrument - 96127-CPT$204.00 this was just something they told me while i waitng4 my appt in the office to go on to my CC portal and do my forms to check in. One of these was some questions about how do i feel do i feel like I'm depressed do i feel like committing suicide. I thought these were just standard questions. I had to finish this form while i was talking to the doctor in the room. If would have known i was going to be charge for this, i would have just put my phone down and never finished. I think they should have 1 made me aware that they bill as oupt hosp and 2 there would be an additional charge to fill out these forms. I had no intention of continue my health issues with Cleveland clinic - i just needed my diabetic refills. I called and the representee only read me a script to as how they bill as oupt &told i was not notified that's a lie. I asked her just to remove the chgs that were left over from ins for the mental health part & she said no. this amount from those forms left me with a balance of $108.81. I will not pay this. I went in with the knowledge that i owed for the $40.00 copay and co insurance for a a1c lab &that was it. Also, it is shwing on my ins claim & their billing as partial hospitalization. I was not hospitalized; it was a simple OV Partial Hospitalization - Less is what is on my stmt.
