On September 24, 2024, I requested a straightforward rollover of $9,240.73 from my 457 account with ********************** to my Vanguard account. I provided all necessary paperwork and specified the destination for the check. However, shortly after, I discovered several issues: Nationwide sent an incorrect amount, canceled an existing loan I have with them without my authorization, and failed to notify me. When I called to address this, they acknowledged the error and placed a stop order on the check. On October 14, 2024, Nationwide sent another check, but as of November 8, 2024, ******** has yet to receive it. Nationwide claims the check was cashed by a ************* does not use, yet they are unable to return my funds. Their customer service has been appalling, with representatives like Eyen ******* and **** ******* offering no real assistance or resolution despite repeated follow-ups. My funds have been tied up for over a month, preventing me from investing and causing financial loss since September 2024, with Nationwide refusing to take responsibility. I am considering legal action and want others to be aware of Nationwides mishandling and unprofessionalism.Nationwide Response

Part 2 of my review. Finishing my previous thought, I was raised that if you do something to someones property or borrow it, you restore/return it in the same condition or better. The total price for original parts came out to be under $200, and there is no doubt that Nationwide could have paid it. They arent a bankrupt business. They have lots of money. Last, multiple times they attempted to take away/not pay for my rental car even though my car was not driveable and was actively being worked on in shop. I cant believe this happened at all, but it did. And in the end I was left without a car before my vehicle was done. Completely unacceptable. All of these things caused me a lot of mental stress over the time period of dealing with this, and I had to miss work because of it too which is a big deal because I am a provider at a rural clinic and if we dont have staff, we have to close down. At the end of it, they refused to provide me a rental car when my car was still being worked on. I had to return the rental car two days before my car was even ready. Direct words from the woman handling my case: I have extended the rental through [anticipated finish date], but this will be the last day and anything beyond that will not be approved. Again, completely unacceptable in my opinion, leaving me without any transportation. Additionally, and I am not trying to say that other forms of work are not important, but being a medical provider, spending years investing in my profession, spending my working life taking care of other people and their children, going out every work day to take care of underserved people in rural communities in need, and being treated this way felt very insulting. Again, these companies dont seem to care at all that we are actual people that need to sleep and work and provide for our families and arent just robots sitting at home waiting to pick up our cars. They just want to keep as much money in their pockets.Nationwide Response

I was rear ended and not at fault. The driver/their insurance Nationwide claimed full responsibility for my repairs. Positives: When I needed a rental Nationwide was very quick to set that up. The two adjusters I worked with were responsive to emails and calls. The two adjusters were for the majority of it professional, knew their companys policies, and knew the information relevant to my case to answer my questions. Negatives: My adjuster told me she was "too busy" to call my shop more than once to get the paperwork she needed to ensure my rental car would continue to be available to me. This is very unprofessional and bad customer service. My rental car was set up through Enterprise, where I had to swap the car out 4 times over 3 weeks because every car I was given had some type of issue that should not have occurred, such as engine light on/electrical malfunction or a leaking tire. My agent and the employees at ********** said theyve never heard of this happening before. I asked friends and family who said they werent surprised by this and have had bad experiences as well. Nationwide refused to pay for original manufacturing parts on my vehicle, which has never been in an accident and was in great condition/had these parts prior to this accident. It is also a very nice car that I worked for years and saved up the money to purchase. They have the ability and the funds to restore my car to its original condition after their client damaged it and they took full responsibility, and research shows that after market parts are known to not fit as well and not be as reliable and can be even dangerous depending on the part replaced. If my car did not have these parts originally, it would be unreasonable for me to request them, but it did, and companies seem to care more about their service being cheap rather than doing it right and doing right by the person who owns the vehicle.Nationwide Response

GO ELSEWHERE FOR PET INSURANCE. They sign you up with all of their lies on what is covered and how EASY it is to file and once they get you to join that all changes. They will tell you they will get all of your pets medical records from their previous vets so you don't have to worry about that.I signed my cat up and ended up taking him in for urinary issues. Submitted the claim and it was denied because they needed "medical records" The records they should have already received during the time they signed us up. I GOT THEM THE RECORDS AND SENT THEM and they still told me they need more information. If my pet is not sick i am not taking them to the vet so therefore I do not have records other than vaccinations and issues hes had in the past.I brought him in again same issue and same thing denied "need more medical records" They are a scam **********************. DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE.Nationwide Response

Incredibly disappointed in Nationwide. I started a Nationwide pet insurance plan six years ago when I was working for a company that offered pet insurance through them. I have since left the company but stayed with Nationwide because they had done such a great job covering my pet. My costs went up incrementally each year but I was fine with that. This past year, my plan went from $140 a month to $260 with no notice other than the usual auto-renewal. I called because I was positive it was a mistake but nope. Cancelled my policy and found another one with more coverage at a fraction of the cost. It's really a shame because I was hoping they were better than that. Just a complete scam. Do not recommend.Review from Ashley S

I would not recommend Nationwide to anyone and will never be a customer again. I got my 6 month auto policy in May and in September they requested information/documentation on someone in my home who has their own car and insurance and does not drive my car. In September, they reached out several times in which I confirmed on every single occasion that he was not a driver and had his own insurance. I emailed with someone, provided the requested documentation and was told theyd reach out if they needed anything else. I went to check my policy on November 1 and it was cancelled. I never received a call or email regarding why or that this was taking place. When I called in, they said it was due to the smallest reason. They were unsure if the person in my household was an owner of my car. Which he is not and I confirmed he was not several times. If they had reached out to me to confirm this I would have done so, but I didnt know this problem existed in the first place. When I asked to have my policy reinstated/renewed they would not, but this was a blessing in disguise. I immediately got a new policy with ***** and they have already been exponentially better. If you look up reviews about Nationwide it looks they do this regularly. Shame on them. It was a pain for me to deal with this but I cant imagine someone who isnt technologically inclined or older struggling with this. Do better Nationwide.Nationwide Response

Nationwide is not renewing both my pet policies because they no longer offer Whole Pet. I have paid my premiums on time every month since we got the dogs. Now they want me to sign up for new policies with pre-existing condition exceptions. The least the company could do is waive the underwriting for pets affected by this change.Review from Cynthia G

Nationwide is NOT on your side. They need to change their tune, literally. I'm *************************************************************************** auto on my condo. Lady above me had leaking pipe which eventually found its way to my ceiling, courtesy of gravity, and of course I wanted it checked for mold and repaired. Who wouldn't? Nationwide Insurance handled everything from the inexperienced and totally non-responsive adjuster to the mailing of my returned annual premium check (second unhappy experience) ($1040 plus change because I changed companies after this horrific experience) without providing ANY real customer service. They claimed the check was mailed on 5 Sept 2024, but when it wasn't received in mid-Oct 2024, it had to be voided and reissued (and I don't believe for one moment they mailed it) and the new check was received on 30 Oct 2024. This entire claim was handled in the worst way possible. If I could give a negative star rating, I would. You are truly horrible. You have no problem taking my money for years but the first time I need to reach you, you make it so hard that one almost gives up and hangs up. Not to mention your ridiculous IVR which makes you jump through hoop after hoop after hoop in hopes of speaking to actual person. I've no doubt this is done on purpose to dissuade one from expending any more effort and hanging up. You are the WORST company I've ever dealt with in my entire life. I ended up filing a case with the ************** of my state, insurance division because I knew that would make a difference. I just want to WARN anyone out there thinking about buying insurance from this company, to save yourself the trouble and find a company which truly is on your side, unlike this company which is only on its own side. I'm sure the management and most of the EEs are overpaid out of our premiums. They think every year should be a 'fat' year and that it's truly not a shared risk. If I could, I'd not have insurance. AVOID!!!Nationwide Response
