In June 2023 I purchased a 2016 Ford Explorer, Limited with 51.000, from Spitzer ford In Hartville Ohio, I was told this vehicle was a Certified preowned vehicle. I financed through my credit union. I purchased the truck, I received the Car Fax as well. I did not purchase a warranty at the time. Received vehicle as is. 6 mos. later at 56,000 I returned to the dealer for Issues with the vehicle hesitating during acceleration. Spitzer Ford completed a diagnostic and charge me 185.00 to do a Powertrain Control Module update on the truck. I was then told to drive vehicle 500-1500 miles so the computer can re learn its self. Now because I work from home I don't drive much. So it took a while for me to drive it that many miles. Called Hartville in March and vehicle still doing the same thing. Called Hartville to see if I could bring it to local dealer. Took to Liberty Ford, They kept my vehicle for four days, Provided me with a Customer Satisfaction Warranty Bulletin from 2/5/21 Which noted 2016 Ford Explorer Vehicles Manufactured in Chicago on 9/29/24-o3/3/2019. may experienced rough idle in drive, lack of acceleration sluggish, i e my vehicle. This service should be performed at no cost to vehicle customer. I informed Hartville Service manager. I was told because I did not bring the vehicle in before 09/1/23. Ford would not cover it. I stated I did not know this. This was never disclosed to me by Ford. He stated they sent the letter to the first owner of the vehicle. I said that is not fair, I'm the second owner. I purchased vehicle from you all. And why was I not notified when I purchased the vehicle in June. I just wanted you all to cover this issue I have a note to pay and you all sold me a crappy car. Ford You are terrible I will never do business with you again.. Bad Business. You should disclose all bulletins and recalls.

Had a terrible experience trying to buy a car from Al Spitzer Ford. I found them through TrueCar and my credit union's buying service but when I contacted Al Spitzer Ford, they would only allow me to buy a car with cash or their financing (which was more expensive than my credit union financing). An email and text not returned once it became apparent I didn't want to buy a car their way -they left me hanging for a day or so not knowing if they'd honor the TrueCar financing I had in place. They seem to want to sell cars the way they want to and it doesn't seem to matter what the customer wants to do. I contacted TrueCar to let them know that Al Spitzer Ford wouldn't honor the car buying service financing they worked out with my credit union. There are lots of easier ways to buy a car!
