We’re supposed to have a lifetime warranty on a fence that we’ve only had for a few years. Trying to get ahold of this company is like pulling teeth, I’ve called multiple times and texted. Today I tried to text the number and my message wouldn’t go through so it looks like they’ve blocked my number now. They should not be in business at all. We have multiple warped boards on our fence, along with a sagging gate that they’ve already “fixed” once. My dogs let themselves out of the gate multiple times a week because it doesn’t close all the way. The hardware that they used is also rusted and it shouldn’t be after 2-3 years. Terrible craftsmanship and terrible customer service. No wonder their BBB accreditation was revoked.Initial Complaint

I purchased a fence from All Star Fencing in March of 2023. After it was completed, I contacted the company and told them that there were issues that needed to be fixed (holes in the fence, lack of tacking of wire to posts and a cracking gate post). I sent pictures and was told all would be taken care of. The owner said he would replace the gate post. When he came he made some improvements but instead of replacing the gate post he cut it down and told me he thought it looked good but if I wasn't happy with it he would come back out and replace it. The gate post continued to crack where the hinge was placed making it hard to operate. I contacted the owner and he told me he would be back out to replace it. I texted him last summer and was told many times he would be out "that week", "after the 4th of July", "guarantee I'll be there this week" All documented by text. The work was never completed and the owner no longer responds to my texts.Initial Complaint

Contacted allstar about my gate breaking in October *** assured me he would resolve the issue. Since then they have not responded to emails messages phone calls. It is July and still waiting to repair gateInitial Complaint

Got a quote from *** on a fence to be put in our backyard on 2/24/2023. Quote was for 12,000$. Required 50% up front. So i paid 6,000$. *** promised to have the fence put up by 3/14-3/15. Nobody showed up. Then received a call that the fence posts would be installed Thursday 3/16. Nobody showed up. Then was told the fence would be put up on 3/21 or 3/22. Nobody showed up gain. I’ve called, left voicemails, sent texts, and sent emails and have been given no response. I’ve been very patient and understanding and now it just feels like I’ve been ghosted. Would like the company to contact me and give me a date the fence posts would be up but I’m not getting a response.Business response

This job has been completed and to our knowledge the homeowner was satisfied with the work as well as the quality. We try hard to make a schedule the best to our ability, however you have to take in factor weather, call ins, and if we feel the ground has dried out enough to properly set certain materials such as vinyl or other things that may take a factor. We understand that it may be frustrating to expect us on a certain day and due to things out of our control things dont always happen as we would like. So we make the best choice for the project and instead of rushing through or just to show up and do or start the job if we feel we can not provide 100 percent quality work because of weather or a knowledge issue not being available then we would rather wait until those things are all put into place properly to offer our best service and best quality work.Initial Complaint

Tuesday, 11-1-22, I signed a contract with All Star Fence to install a fence at **** ***** ***** **** ********** ** *****. A representative of All Star Fence, *** *******, came to our property and gave us a work proposal for $3700.00. I gave *** a personal check for $1850.00, the required down payment of 50%. The next morning, Wednesday, 11-2-22, I called *** and said we wanted to cancel the agreement for the fence according to the terms and conditions of the contract. (the "owner has 3 business days from the date on this contract to cancel this agreement".) *** said he could return my down payment the next day, Thursday, 11-3-22. I said that was not a good day as I was scheduled for jury duty. *** then said he would bring the down payment to our house on Friday, 11-4-22, around noon. *** did not show up on Friday, 11-4-22. Later that day I called ***, left a voice mail saying we were at home waiting for him around the noon***e hour and he never showed up; I asked him to call me. On Tuesday, 11-8-22, I received a text from *** saying he would contact me the next day, 11-9-22. On 11-9-22, I texted *** saying we would be home on 11-9-22. I never heard back from *** on 11-9-22. On Thursday, 11-10-22, I sent *** a text asking him to "call or text me regarding returning our down payment". On Friday, 11-11-22, *** texted me that he could be at our house on Tuesday, 11-15-22 at 3, He also texted "It will be cash if that's ok". I texted back "cash is fine. We will see you at 3 on Tuesday". On Tuesday, 11-15-22, at 3:16pm, *** texted he "totally forgot" our appointment and would come on Wednesday, 11-16-22, at 3PM. *** did not show up on 11-16-22. I texted him at 3:18pm asking if he was coming. No response from ***. Since 11-16-22, my husband, *****, and I have attempted to reach *** via phone, leaving messages, never a call back. On 12-6-22, we went to All Star Fence. The door was locked with a sign posted to call for an appt. We did but no call back; never rec'd paymentBusiness response

I own a home in Miamisburg, Ohio. My son currently lives in the house and I plan to move there this year. In August of 2022 *** at All Star Fence gave me a written estimate of $7400.00 to take out my old fence and install a new fence. On August 22, 2022 I paid the 50% required down payment of $3700.00. I was informed by *** in early October 2022 that All Star Fence had received the fencing material that had been ordered for my yard. As of this date no work has been done yet. I have had telephone contact with the office and with *** and have been assured numerous times since being notified that the fence material had been received by All Star, that the work would be done in a few days, next week, etc. I sent All Star Fence an email on 12/8/22 requesting return of my $3700.00 down payment since All Star Fence is not doing the job. I also sent a letter to All Star Fence on 12/10/22 requesting return of my $3700.00 down payment. I have not been contacted by All Star Fence since sending the email and letter. I would like to have the down payment returned. I would like to say that I would like All Star to do the job but now I don't have much confidence that All Star will do a good job.Business response

In April of 2021 ***** from All Star Fence came out to quote us for a fence for our backyard. The quote was for $13,596.00. We agreed to the quote and payed $6,798.00 down payment. The contract states that the fence permit was included in this price and that the fence would be completed within 4-5 months. 5 months went by and we heard nothing from the company again. We called, left a number of messages and emails. I have saved every email. Finally we were called back and told we could not put a fence along our back property due the city denying the permit due to water drainage. ***** said he would take it to court and fight to get the permit. At this point winter was coming and we didn’t want to go to court and drag this out even longer. We are military, which the owner knew, and we wouldn’t be in the house more than 2 years. Dragging this process out was not an option for us. We stated at this time we would just like to be refunded. The owner told us he used the money to buy the wood for our fence. We said “okay, then we’ll come pick up the wood and materials then.” He said he would call us back. Months went by of us calling with no return calls. Finally we drove up in person and we talked with him and he agreed to refund us. His office manager *** emailed us that she would be refunding our card. We have the email stating this. Well, our card was never refunded. We called and called. We went up and person again and again were told they would refund us and this time mail a check. They said it would take 14 days. After 30 days and still nothing, we call and emailed again. We have record of all calls and emails, and their response saying they had mailed the check. We have never received a dime. Again we called and emailed and finally after months got a response from someone named *** saying that *** no longer worked there and she would take care of it. That was 2 months ago. We are out $6,798 we just want our money back.Business response

*****, Well he has the same card as another one of our customers Capital one, ( so its not a bank card) anyway our merchant has issued the refund twice and for some reason a credit card like that will not honor the refund, due to " the reason". so because it was deducted from our bank account we have went around and around with our merchant on trying to get the funds back and then us just giving a cash refund. Even though our merchant has advised us and argues with us that is not recommended due to legal purposes the money must be given back to the debt holder and in this case it is considered to be " Capital One" because that is where the purchase was through on the behalf of Mr, *****. So that is currently being delt with and probably needs to become more of a priority now that we have a secretary able to keep note of things to do.

I am rejecting this response because:While I appreciate the response, it does not provide a clear course of action leading to a refund. Rather than dealing with Capitol zone and their merchant, a simple check in the refund amount would resolve this dispute and further legal action.

Down payment on fence $7500 last March. No communication until late June after I called multiple times. Told installation week after July 4th. No communication so I called again late July and into August. Finally told install week after Labor Day. Removed old fence September 27 supposedly selling it for $1300 due to me then no further contact until October 3 when temporary fence needed repair. Holes dug and no further communication since although I was told installation within the week of tearout. No one returns calls. Told when I went to office that install would begin October 19. Once again no show and no call or text.Business response

We had an estimate for a fence tear down / install done in 5/18/2021. We did nothing with the estimate at the time but I held on to the proposal. I contacted them again in 7/2022 to inquire about an updated estimate. They said they could do the job at the same price as the 5/2021 estimate. I agreed and per their terms I paid $6,433 toward the total of $11,443 on 7/29/2022 with a check made out to the company. I received a call from the company, on 8/29/22 via voicemail, stating that the job should be started on the week of 9/12/2022. That week came and went with nothing done and no contact. I have tried calling on several occasions for an update but the voicemail is full on one number and no return call from the other. I even went to the company address at 2:30 on 9/20/22 but nobody was on site. I would like the job completed as promised or a refund provided if they can't for some reason.Business response

he will definitely be completed by Oct 20th .. We have just been so short handed and there really isn't an excuse or reason on why we have been so far behind and his fence has not been installed yet. However his project is one of the main projects on our ASAP listCustomer response

Owner of all star fence picked up deposit April 1, 2022 to replace a damaged gate. Was told 6 weeks, that came and went with no response from owner. Finally showed up in July and told me he had the wrong gate, he said the salesman measured it wrong. I followed up with the salesman and he indicated that the owner measured the gate, so the owner is not honest. Have been calling and leaving messages but get no response. All I want is my deposit back. ThanksBusiness response
