Thank you for contacting us regarding Mr. P***'s complaint. First, let me apologize for the delay in responding to your office. Please be aware Mr. P*** also filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's office. I am going to try to articul*** the facts of the claim as we understand them to be at this point.
Mr. P*** brought his 2006 Chevrolet Impala into our Jiffy Lube store on November 16th for an oil change service. According to our company's service records, this was the first time this vehicle has been serviced at a Jiffy Lube store. At the time of the service, his Impala had 214,919 miles on it. Mr. P*** told me during a conversation on November 19th he bought the car five months ago. Mr. P*** was unable to provide service records to our office for his Impala. After the engine failed on Mr. P***'s Impala, he brought his car back to the Jiffy Lube store. Our company had the car towed to Precision Tune Auto to have the engine damage diagnosed. The mechanic verified the mileage was 215,925, meaning the car was driven 1,006 miles after the Jiffy Lube service. The mechanic at Precision Tune was unclear how the Jiffy Lube oil change could have caused the damage considering the mileage driven after the service. During our conversation on November 30th, I told Mr. P*** and his mother for our company to take responsibility we need to know how the Jiffy Lube service caused the damage. As of the writing of this letter, we have yet to receive a thorough diagnosis stating the cause of the engine damage on Mr. P***'s Impala.
