    On June 10th, 2023 I entered the Omega Music Store at 318 E. Fifth Street in Dayton, OH and when asked by a female salesperson if I would like some help, I replied that I wanted to rebuild a lost vinyl record collection of about 300 albums from the golden age of 1970's Fusion Jazz, Hard Rock of the same era, Classical and Movie Soundtracks in addition to a new record player. Not seeing any record players on display where there had been on previous visits I asked if they still carried record players. The saleswoman said they did but had none in stock at the moment. Some were on order and would arrive soon. She then offered to help me find some albums but a male salesperson behind the counter offered to help me instead. I listed a few of the recording artist I was interested in... Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Yes, Weather Report, Passport, Steely Dan. I then sked if he knew when the record players would be in. The salesman said he was not. I asked him if he could call me when they arrived... He said he could not, They had no "policy" in place to do that. "Policy?" I asked. "A telephone? He smiled and added they did not have a "System to track that sort of thing." "A notepad?" I suggested. "You mean you don't want to have a happy customer?" He repeated they had no policy to contact customers. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I told him about how my ex-wife, suffering from a bipolar disorder, had disposed of my record collection and my record player which I had bought from this very store while I was hospitalized. This did not move him in the slightest bit as he maintained he could not help me. I feel this is a case of triple discrimination. Number one... I am old, 68 years. Number two... I am handicapped and need to use a walker to get around as I did that day. Number three... I am black. Music had been a source of beauty in my life, but this episode at Omega Music was ugly, racist and just plain mean.

    David, I apologize for the experience you had at our shop. The turntables we stock can take many months to arrive after they are ordered due to supply chain issues that have been affecting our world since Covid-19. I don't know if anyone you spoke with here explained that part of the problem to you, which is the main reason we don't have a way to track who to contact. Last time we were out of them, it took 8 months for them to come back in stock. This should have been explained and i regret that no one seems to have done so. We strive to provide good customer service and it sounds like we dropped the ball on communication last Friday. Please accept my apology and let me know if you'd still like us to reach out when turntables come back in. I am happy to offer 25% off any turntable if that helps. Thank you.
