I walked in to get checked out because I've been dehydrated for 3-4 weeks pretty much straight. They told me they don't do walk ins, so I scheduled an appointment and came back at the scheduled time, which is fine.I come back, get checked in, and get taken to the room. I wait for over 1hr and 20 mins past my appointment time, which is wild to me because they're not doing walk-ins, so they're not suddenly swamped by people coming in all at once. All their appointments are scheduled. If you're **** mins late to a dr **** they can not only refuse to see you but may also charge you a fee, but if the dr is almost an hour and a half late to see you, you have to just take it. Some people come during their lunch hour, and they may only have that one hour, which means they may wait, not get medical attention before they have to leave, and they didn't get to eat. Some people can't eat while at work. The patient made sure to do their due diligence to get there on time or even early and may have to either be forced to take sick time off or get in trouble for an appointment that could have been handled within their lunch hour if the doctors ever honored scheduled appointment times the way they expect patients to. I just don't understand why it's so one sided. When she finally came in she just said "We don't do IVs." I said okay and then it was just silent. Then I explained "I'm here to figure out why I've been dehydrated for 3-4 weeks." I had written in the paper that was the period of time and she really came in almost an hour and a half late to tell me they don't do IVs. I'm here to find out if I have some internal problems I need to handle - I didn't think I'd have to spell that out to a medical professional. If I wrote it's been ongoing and I'm clearly in a state where I can still drink water with my mouth why would you just say that and then nothing else?So she was like "Oh okay you're here to figure out what's wrong. Well I could check your blood sugar?" So she did and it was fine. Then she said "Well...I don't know." She seriously said that. I was shocked. Of course you don't know - you've done a single inductive thing. You haven't asked any deductive questions you just said "Might be diabetes" then tested and said "Not that. **** that's all I have." That is so unethical. ****** would have been more helpful. I can test blood sugar at home. Some people who go here don't have insurance, man, and you're having them pay to get that level of treatment? It would have been understandable if she did her best and ran out of ideas, but she literally did the absolute least a person could do to say there was some sort of degree of effort. A med student would have given me better medical attention than I got from her. I could have something serious going on and she just treated it like it's nothing. So when I pushed back and said "Is there nothing else you can do?" she said "Well maybe it's the season. The air is dry." To which I replied "Okay but I've never had this issue before so if it were that wouldn't I have had this problem to some degree a prior year?" To which she agreed is true. Then she told me I could go to a different doctor. I could have kidney or liver issues and you're just shrugging it off and pushing the job onto someone else after I already paid you. This was a waste of both time and money. Honestly surprised a person with such a low code of ethics is allowed to practice. This kind of behavior falls under both negligence and work avoidance. If I behaved with that degree of care at my job I'd be fired.
