We purchased a 12' hood kit for around $14251 + $2000 for shipping. When the product arrived 4 weeks a later it was damaged and had to be returned. It was deliver un-crated on a single pallet. That was easy enough but we were told shipping would take 10 days and it took another 6 weeks to receive a new hood. When it arrived it look like they tried to makeshift a crate but it was all broken up. We were told we had to take it up with the shipping company. They put on the truck and the rest is out of their hands. The customer service gal was very rude. This threw us way off schedule and we were scrambling to get contractors back. Several Hood installers in our greater area refused to work on a Hoodmart hood and one quote we got was $75,000 for installation. When we finally got it installed the state inspector made us rewire the lighting. The hood is marketed as "zero clearance" but we were required to leave a 12" gap between the ceiling and the hood. Finally we had to order a control box that was not included in the package for another $1300.00. When it arrived our electrician ( who professionally installs hoods and fire suppression) was unable to hook it up. He called the support line on the box and determined we were not sent the proper box. Because of our upcoming opening we paid an additional $2000 to have the electrician build one and install it. Hoodmart would NOT accept a return on electrical parts. He insisted that the part could have been used if our electrician had called him directly not the help line on the box!???????. Do not buy from hoodmart!!!!! They were unhelpful and when we spoke to the **** fire installer he said they run into this with Hoodmart a lot.
