I am 83 years old. I hired them to do some electric work on Thursday the 15th. He gave me a verbal estimate for $500. He was supposed to put in an electric box and run a wire from the carport to the post which was 32' . He was supposed to dig a trench and use conduit. He did not dig a trench. he just covered it. He did not install a box for the wiring. he wired it into my motion sensor light rather than installing it's own box. He made it sound like a really big job, but it was a very small, simple job. I was watching him, and became suspicious. So I tried called another electric company to ask about the job, but couldn't reach anyone. 

He was here a little over an hour when he came to the door, and asked to be paid. He wanted cash. I told him that I was upset and the job was not completed in the manner in which it was explained to me. He said he had done what he said he would do. I said I can't give you that much money for this little job. He said, pay me or I'll call the police. I told him to call the police. The Sunbury police came out and said that because I had been given an estimate I had to pay him. I wrote a check to him, and he has cashed it.     

I have had another electrician come out and look at the job, and he estimated the job was worth about $250.
