Additional Complaint Information
VSI responds to complainants dissatisfied with the service by indicating that the resort companies are responsible for sales representations and the cost of the VSI program was only $199 - $349 of the total purchase price. VSI sometimes issues refunds of this fee to resolve disputes and refers other concerns back to the business that sold the package.

10/4/2022 Contract to sell our timeshare. We were told timeshare should sell quickly due to it being close to Christmas. $299 was collected. No communication on how sale was going has ever been discussed to us, I have had to reach out to see how thing were going and response was very poor or none at all. I had tried to post pictures on their site which have still not been approved so they have not even been posted which was months ago. I last reached out April 5th and still have had no response from company. I want a full refund on my $299 as they are not doing anything for the sale of my timeshare.Business response

II listed my timeshare for sale with Vacation Services International in 2017. ***** *** ****, a travel company, assured me that they could get my ******** ***** Timeshare sold for what we had in it once we paid and joined the "club". They use Vacation Services International to sell properties so I thought Ok, I no longer want the timeshare so this would give me an out and provide other services to me. I paid my membership and the initial fee to VSI, think it was around $250and then like $99 per year after that. Property was valued at $38,000 so we listed it at $30,000. No offers so we paid again to have it listed and started dropping the price...$25,000......$20,000......$15,000......$10,000.......$5000......$1000.... and finally best offer. We have received no offers and have not heard a word from Vacation Services International. I ******* Timeshares for sale and looked through 15 pages and ********************************* did not appear anywhere. I got on their website and after 15 minutes of searching I found my listing that still has information from 2018. I am not sure how they expect to sell a timeshare when the average person could not possibly find their site. I am starting to think that I was a victim of a scam and they just wanted to collect my listing fees and did nothing to promote a sale. I talked to several other companies that do appear on ****** and they believe my property is well under priced and should have sold quickly but at this point I refuse to pay another "marketing" company. If you are trying to sell a timeshare, I would be very careful dealing with this company. Their fees are low but you get absolutely no benefit. If you are ever invited to a ***** *** **** sales talk, be very careful. I believe that they are not doing the job that I contracted them to do. They were paid to advertise my Timeshare for sale and have basically just put it on their website that can not be found by people searching for tie shares for sale.Business response

We are sorry to hear that the sale of your timeshare has not been completed. We are not affiliated with II or any other company. There are many factors that go into the success of selling anything and timeshares are no exception. The asking price, property owned and the perceived value by a potential buyer just to name a few. VSI is dedicated to assisting clients in marketing the vacation ownership they want to sell. We will refund your full amount paid, a check will be mailed tomorrow. We are sorry we were not able to move the property and you can contact us or market your property in addition.Customer response

I previously filed this complaint but the address they used in ******* was no longer valid. I bought into ***** *** **** in November of 2017. The sales person assure me that they could have my timeshare sold in less than 18 months and I should be able to get out of it what I had in it. They had me enroll and pay Vacation Services International to sell my timeshare in ******** *****. I listed it for $30,000 well below the $40,000 I spent. Over the last 4 years I have reduced the price to $25,000, $20,000, $10,000and finally $1000 or best offer. NOT A SINGLE OFFER WAS EVER SENT TO ME. WHEN I ******* TIME SHARE FOR SALE THEIR WEB SITE COULD NOT BE FOUND. EVEN ON THEIR OWN WEB SITE IT TOOK ME OVER 20 MINUTES OF SEARCHING TO FIND MY LISTING THAT STILL HAD 2018 INFORMATION LISTED. I filed a complaint with BBB and have reached a settlement with them. The only reason I joined ***** *** **** was the sales pitch that assured me that they could get my timeshare sold. I told the presenter that I could not afford both the timeshare and the club and he insisted that i should get back all the money I had paid for the timeshare. These were at est lies and border on fraud. I have tried to contact the sales office in ******* through BBB and they got no response. I have never used the service and want to reach an agreement on buying me out of the $6500 I paid to join the club. I need an address for your legal department so that they can be notified that BBB is trying to reach them. I was instructed that if there is no response. Hoping the new address will get me some type of response. I am willing to negotiate a settlement to avoid going to court, Please let me know how you wish to proceed.. I still have all my original material from the sales presentation including the paper I submitted to the presenter stating that our timeshare needed to be sold.Business response

The additional concerns the client has is regarding a different company they are complaining about and not VSI. VSI has no affiliation with ***** *** **** or any other company. We are an independent company that have resorts and travel clubs nationwide referring their clients for our marketing services. VSI has responded once with all the requested information to the Baumans and there is nothing else to say regarding this complaint. Have a great day.
Cordially,
