Complaint The vet techs here are either rude, inept at their job, or both. Simple heartworm test, and the vet tech just kept poking my dog to find a vein, 6-7 times. Not a single word from her to comfort the dog, didn’t say a word to us. Just poke, poke , poke. So she calls in the other vet tech and they finally draw the blood. As they are leaving, I whisper to my wife, “they could atleast acknowledge the dog”. When the vet techs closed the door behind them, we can hear them saying “You shouldn’t mumble under your ******* breath” and quite a few more expletives. I went to the lobby to find the vet. I don’t want these two people, who couldn’t do the job right in the first place, taking any of their anger out on my dog. *** ***** was kind and helpful. She sent one of the techs to her car, my best bet is to “cool down”. When the vet walks in, the remaining vet tech completely turned her attitude around. “awww, your dog is so cute. What kind of breed is he?” Etc etc” Ok, I appreciate the change of attitude but not because your boss is in the room. As we are checking out she blatantly lies to my face. “I’m sorry you heard us arguing back there.” I said, you can hear through these doors. It’s fine. A simple apology would have gone a long ways, but don’t lie to me. Not to mention, last year when I had them clip his nails, the same tech cut the very first nail too short and my dog screamed in pain. We get his nails trimmed elsewhere. 24 years I have taken my dogs here. This is not the office of old. The front office workers don’t do their job well, they deem it okay to curse at customers in the other room, they lie instead of apologize, and most importantly, they cause unnecessary pain to the animals. I will be contacting Dr. Anstadt directly, as he wasn’t there for our appointment. He needs to know his staff is causing pain, cursing, and losing legacy customers.
