May 2023, I had Mr. Appliance technician ****** ****** come out to inspect my Equator washer/dryer combo. I had just bought it and it was making a lot of noise (shaking, rattling, very loud vibrations..). He came and "inspected" it the first time, didn't hear any noises when he was there and left (the noises only occurred during high spin cycle and he was there after it had ran into dryer mode). I had to have him come out a second time June 2023, where he "diagnosed" the issue as broken shocks and put in an order for parts. I paid $458.77 upfront in June 2023. The company kept saying the parts where on backorder every time I called since then and never came to fix the issue. Come to find out, the shipping rods were still inserted into the back of the machine and that was what was causing the noises. There are absolutely no issues with the shock absorbers, at all. I called almost 2 weeks ago (Sept 2023) to get a refund issued, and I was told it would take a week for the financial department to release the funds and return the money to my account. Every time I have called since then, no one has answered the phone and no one has called me back. They have a disclaimer in their receipt that refunds cannot be issued from special order parts even if they haven't been ordered or are on backorder, but I didn't even need the parts replaced to begin with so I feel like I should be able to receive a full refund due to their inadequate inspection of the machine.Initial Complaint

Mr.Appliance came out on 08/03/23 and diagnosed what was wrong with my fridge. I accepted the quote, they charged me the full amount of the repair and said that is their policy up front. They were supposed to return two weeks later to fix the fridge on 08/17/2023. They never showed up. I was told it was because they did not receive the parts yet, so they stopped the appointment. They then rescheduled the following week 08/24/2023 and once again they were still missing one of the parts , so they rescheduled again 08/31/23. Then once again, they did not show. This time when I called I was informed the business has shut their doors and that they are national but each store is privately owned and they were not sure how to help me get my money back. I have since called corporate offices everyday for the past week. I have yet to have someone call me back that can even speak to me about the matter. I would love help in getting my money refunded or pointed in the right direction of what step I need to proceed with next.Initial Complaint

We contracted service for washer repair and paid for the service. We scheduled a day for return. When I called to find out what time they would be arriving I was told the business was out of business. They have failed to return any calls to resolve this issue.Initial Complaint

Aug31, Mr. Appliance sent a tech named ******* to diagnose our refrigerator. It was not cooling, the coldest it would get was 71 degrees. ******* stated that we needed to compressor and a Drier-UV part which he ordered. We paid in full $1442.81 for him to order a Compressor & a Drier-UV part. Aug.4th Our scheduled install date however though confirmed by ****** (I called to double check) Mr. Appliance was a no show. I left work early to meet the technician. Aug.11th Mr.Appliance sent another technician named *****. He stated that our refrigerator was misdiagnosed said it needed a new thermostat and jazz board. He also noted that it would take two days to arrive. Fast forward to August 15 no service has been done to the refrigerator. I have called daily to speak to the manager who is also the owner. His name is **** *****. He has not once reached out to rectify the situation. All I am requesting is our $1442.81 back. I have made this request known to the phone rep at Mr. Appliance w zero response from anyone. Today is day 16 without refrigeration.Initial Complaint

I had a service issue with a regional franchise, in Ohio. My invoice # ******. I required svc on my LQ dishwasher. July 28 the tech (****) was out ordered parts. (He did not even check the drain pump, he just said it was bad and ordered one). He returned Aug 4 to install. My wife was here and unfortunately was not able to shadow him. I returned after he was done and had left. The job was incomplete, the machine parts left scattered on floor of kitchen, filter laying, a NEW code (AE) showing. He did not tell my wife why or if he was returning. I called the regional office only to find out they thought the job done. I sent them pictures to the regional office and corporate HQ and they "will try and get someone out" To this date I have heard nothing and received no follow-up.Initial Complaint

I contacted Mr. Appliance in Dayton, OH to repair my GE dishwasher on June 14th. I was quoted a price of $373.53 for part and labor in which I went ahead with the repair. First red flag I should have noted was the tech didn't troubleshoot my dishwasher. He said based off what I described and from previous repairs they have done in my community he assumed it was the control board. They ordered a control board that was supposed to be delivered directly to me and my repair was supposed to be done within that week. Well the part did not come that week so no repair. The next week the tech comes back to complete the repair. He gets here and ask for the part in which I didn't have it. It was delivered to his house. So of course they have to reschedule another repair for the following week. The tech comes back out and now according to the him the part is defected and didn't work. I personally believe he just guessed wrong and what he initially said was wrong wasn't. That was almost two weeks ago and present day no one has called to reschedule my repair. I have reached out to them several times, left several messages and no one has answered or returned my calls. I called them again July 7th from my friends phone and ****** answered right away. I stated my frustration with the company and asked why no one was returning my calls. ****** stated they have been out of the office. I told her I wanted a full refund because it has been almost a month and my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired. She stated the managers were out of town and would be back Monday (today) and I could speak to them regarding a refund. After speaking with her and what was noted in the system the tech lied to me. The part he tried to install wasn't defected he just guessed wrong and nothing was wrong with my control board. The tech supposedly was ordering a different part to try but again to date hasn't. Clearly the tech is guessing and not qualified to repair my dishwasher.Initial Complaint

I wish to file a complaint with you. My husband checked and found no complaints at the Better Business Bureau for Mr Appliance of West Central Ohio for service when our refrigerator stopped working the last week of March. The service provided was lousy. I wish to file a complaint for your records and I have also sent a copy of my complaint to the Ohio Attorney General, Consumer Service. When the Mr Appliance repairman came, he didn’t check the refrigerator or even want it plugged in to listen to it. He said the repair would be $1,100 and the job could be done by the end of the week. He said the cost was mostly for parts, which would be sent directly to our house, and could be installed three days later, seven days at the most. When I asked about payment he said the company required full payment in advance. I was asked to sign something on his computer but was not given any other information. I had company coming for Easter and needed something done quickly so I gave him a check for the full amount. A copy of an agreement, with other conditions on it that were not provided to me initially, was emailed to me later. The check was cashed the following day. No parts were delivered by the promised date. I called and they said they were now coming from California. They arrived a week later, shipped from Huntsville, AL to Louisville, KY before finally being shipped here. When I called wanting to know why the repairman hadn’t come to install the part as scheduled I was told their system didn’t indicate delivery of part. I told them I had the part and when no one showed up on rescheduled repair date I called again and was told the repairman was off that day. Then a different repairman finally came and installed the part, it worked for one day only. By that time my spouse had looked up the part and cost for it was about $200 retail. When I complained to Mr Appliance, the repairman later came back and replaced another part. He said he found a hole in the original part but, but then, in putting in this replacement part, he burned holes in my kitchen floor. This second part only worked for a day and my refrigerator was non-fiinctional again. This time the repairman said it could not be repaired. Both he and the office clerk who answered my phone calls said they would have a resolution for me in the next day or two. Their “resolution” has simply been to take my $1,100 and leave me with a burned kitchen floor and a non-functional refrigerator. I believe the second repairman was knowledgeable. The second part was probably worn out but why should I pay for the first part and installation for something that was working perfectly well? However, neither part worked, and he damaged the kitchen floor too. Surely it’s not the first time Mr Appliance ever repaired a refrigerator. Why not put something down to protect the customer’s floor? Answer: Why bother? The fine print in their agreement says the company isn’t responsible for other damage. I think this is an overpriced scam to bilk the consumer out of whatever they can get away with. And that’s exactly what they did to me. See AttachedInitial Complaint

My tenant has a malfunctioning clothes dryer and I contacted Mr. Appliance, which came to my building, analyzed the problem, and ordered and I paid for a $300+ part in early December. That part apparently went missing and another part was ordered later in December. I've asked for an explanation of where the 1st part went and when the replacement part will arrive, and have gotten no assistance from their dispatcher or customer support. I asked the parts department to update me on other suppliers of this part. I have called more than a dozen times on this over the past month plus. My tenant has not had a functional dryer all this time.Initial Complaint

I called Mr. Applicance on November 14th and scheduled an appointment for a dryer repair for November 21. They called on the 17th and said their technician was on their way. I was an hour away at work and could not be home. I called back 3x and left a message; no one answered. My voicemail explained that I was not home and this was not the scheduled appointment day for them to come out. I called again Friday, November 18th and was told they could come out today, if I wanted. I accepted and waited over 5 hours for them to come. They never showed or called me to explain anything. I called them again and was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back 6 more times and finally got through to a live person. She said it was my fault because I was not there on Thursday. I explained to her that my appointment was originally for Monday, not Thursday. She went to investigate and gave me a call back 5 hours later. She said she could reschedule it for Monday the 21st. No apologies given. Monday came and went and no one showed, so I had to call again and again until finally getting ahold of someone. I was told their computer crashed over the weekend and they lost all appointments. After hours of talking and calling on the phone, I was never given an apology and was rescheduled for the following Monday. The technician was an hour early, I received no notice of this, and happened to pull up to my place as he was about to leave. He inspected my dryer and was told it needed a $500 part, I paid the $119 diagnostic fee, and I haven't heard from Mr. Appliance as of yet. I was never given an apology or money off the diagnostic fee for my time lost. This will be the last time I use Mr. Appliance as I see now they are not accredited by the BBB.
