You don't always get what you pay for. Last month my wife dropped a hint that she would like to have a recliner. I typically have a hard time finding the right things to get her for her birthday / Christmas (same day). So, I was astute enough to recognize the opportunity that this presented. I decided that I would get her "the best" recliner, a ********* Went on-line, picked a model that matched her petite size, ordered it and made a down-payment that exceeded the price of a recliner elsewhere. Fast-forward to today, the recliner gets delivered (finally). I'm excited, she's excited, she sits down and pushes back and almost falls out of the chair! After rescuing her, we examine the chair and surmise that the back is not attached on the right-side. Now I'm cranky, she's disappointed. Place a phone call, explain the situation and am told that it wasn't assembled correctly (no sh!t!). Then, I am told that they can tell me over the phone how to fix the problem! Mind you, I've spent $1,000 on this chair and they expect ME to correct their shortcomings. I declined, not wanting the responsibility and potentially doing more damage. I'm told that I then must speak to their ************** *********** I call and am on ignore for a good twenty minutes and am reminded several times that my call is important to them. Finally, I give up and leave my call back number and told by the automated attendant that someone will return my call in 24 hours. Pretty much proves my initial statement, they got my money and that's all that matters.
