Three years ago I rented an excavator and wheeled bobcat from One Stop. It was the 4th of July. The excavator died. It was a battery issue and subsequently I spent a large sum of money to not complete work I had intended. Joe (at that time) made a goodwill gesture and deducted 15% off my total bill. That gesture did not allow me to complete the work or even cover the cost of additional labor I had recruited, but it was appreciated none the less. I went back to One Stop again last year because of how One Stop handled the situation. This year, I again rented a bobcat and excavator and had them delivered on the Holiday weekend. The bobcat failed (a starter which had “original” written on it), I didn’t have the opportunity again to complete the work. In fact, I had to cease excavator operations (digging) to try and get some of eth material moved since the bobcat was defunct. Try moving large amounts of material with a 2 foot bucket. Very inefficient. I couldn’t keep my sons on, they had to return to work (one is from out of state). Naturally, I was very pissed. I contacted Joe this past Tuesday morning and explained that I was angry. I had even taken the day off work (a lost vacation day) to try and deal with the mess that resulted from failed equipment. Joe offered to send me a replacement bobcat to try and get caught up. At no time was additional cost mentioned. No time. I thought, wow, ok they’ll try to make this work again. I’ll continue being a repeat customer. Joe and I subsequently discussed a discount. He said I would get 25% off. I was under the impression that was off the total bill to help compensate me for lost work and lost project time. Almost $1000.00 just for the equipment and delivery. That does not include refueling or paying my sons or for their fuel. In this economy, that is a tall order. I received my discount last evening, $52 and change. I called One Stop to speak with Joe.
