I’m a small village girl where parking is free . I parked in a lot that stated it was public parking after Friday . Upon exiting my vehicle I seen a small metal box with a very tiny slit to pay for parking understanding from what I read that $10 is to be paid through the week because the sign is not clear . Had I known that it was not just public parking but had to pay I definitely would have but the sign states PRIVATE PARKING Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm TOWING ENFORCED… Nothing about paying on Saturday and Sunday . My vehicle was towed !! I had to pay $166 . There’s not a FULL phone number so I tried several ways to call with operator saying can not be called . So I called the police standing in the cold for hours to find out it was towed by Shamrock Towing . I feel that I was robbed because the sign does not make it clear that you have to pay for parking when it is public parking on Saturday and Sunday . The sign actually reads PRIVATE PARKING MONDAY- FRIDAY 7am to 6pm TOWING ENFORCED PUBLIC PARKING ALL OTHER TIMES . Follow directions on pay box located at the Southeast corner of the lot . And gives a number to call 8823555 ( only with no area code ) Not being from Columbus I had no idea area code was 614 so I dialed 800 wrong then tried 888 wrong again . I then standing freezing called the police. I was then told my vehicle was not stolen but had been towed !! This was the most horrified feeling I ever experienced thinking my vehicle had been stolen Walking out thinking it was safe and then to find it missing . Being an honest person if I had thought the sign meant I had to pay $10 in some small slit having to jam it in with a metal piece I most certainly would have done just that But I honestly thought payment for parking was expected only after 6pm Monday Through Friday with Towing enforced . Directly under those words $166 towing fee to take my vehicle a few block's Make the sign more understandable!! Sign needs to read more of what’s expected
