    In January, 2023,, BBB investigated True 2 You Estate Sale’s business practices. This investigation was prompted by complaints and a large complaint volume. Such as billing/collection issues with consumers reporting not getting their payouts for estate sales being held by the business. On July 17, 2023, BBB sent an email to True 2 You Estate Sales with the following questions...


    • Consumers report allegations that your positive customer reviews are from family, workers, former workers, and friends. We have tried to invalidate this concern by putting the reviews under review and reaching out to the consumers and requesting simple documentation to prove marketplace interaction, but we did not receive anything back from anyone unfortunately. Can you tell me your position on this and how customer reviews come about for your business?

    • Several consumers report allegations that they have not got paid for all the items that you sold for them at their estate sales. (This could be a little bit delayed, and they possibly could have been paid by now, but this is referring to when they were still waiting on their payouts.) Could you tell me about these situations?

    • Several consumers report allegations of them not getting paid the correct amount or the agreed upon amount. Can you tell me how the payouts come about? Like do the consumers set an amount they would like items sold for or is it just more of how much you think you will get out of the items? Or is it not specifically priced?

    • Consumers report allegations that they did not sign the paper that was provided to us by your business about the final payout agreement and that their signatures were forged. Can you provide some kind of documentation that this was found to be not true and that they did in fact sign the document? Or tell your side on this matter?

    • Then lastly, a consumer report allegations to trying to cash a check that was from your business and the bank says the check continued to bounce and they were unable to cash due to insufficient funds in the account. It was also reported on this that the consumer had to wait to work with the bank in order to wait for enough funds to be in the account in order to get the check cashed. Can you tell me about your side on this situation?

      I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING TRUE 2 YOU ESTATE SALES.In January of 2022 we used True 2 You Estate Sales for my mother-in-law as she was having to move to a nursing home. After the sale the real problems started. We had a hard time getting payment from them. The contract states that payment "shall be paid to and delivered to the Seller 10 days following the conclusion of the sale..." Our sale ended on January 23, therefore, we should have received payment by February 2.We contacted *************************, owner, several times trying to get payment. She promised she would deliver it to us. She would set a date and time and then never show up. After numerous phone calls and texts she finally agreed to bring us the payment. She cut us a check and delivered it to us on February 28, 36 days after then end of the sale.We deposited the check in our bank on February 28. On March 2 we were notified by the bank that the check had bounced and had been returned due to insufficient funds. I contacted ******* and she told me they had a mix up and had put the proceeds in the wrong account. She asked me to run the check through again and it would clear. We had the bank run the check through again. On March 4 we were notified by the bank that it was once again returned due to insufficient funds.We continued trying to work with ******* for several weeks to try to get paid. She eventually would not accept any of our calls and would not reply to any of our texts. We notified her that our only recourse would be to turn the insufficient fund check over to the District Attorney. Again, no reply from her.On or about April 12 we had to turn it over to the *************************** At that point we were told by the DA's office that they would handle it. Eventually we did receive our money but not until 79 days after the end of the sale and numerous hours of trying to collect money she agreed she owed us.
