Heller's Gas is my propane supplier, however, they no longer service the fireplaces and gave me Hlavaty's name as a company to fill this need. The technician from Hlavaty looked at the fireplace for 5 minutes and said you need a part or maybe a new fireplace......few days passed and got a phone call from Tom A***** (sales guy from their Grantville location). We came to Grantville and eventually agreed in an email to purchase a demo model from Tom. 3 days after my wife and I came to Grantville to see the fireplaces for sale, we received a phone call from Hlavaty/George Services customer service woman stating they are "PAYING IT FORWARD" and are offering me a free inspection of my heating unit / heat pump. The same tech came to the house and took pictures of the unit and sent them to my wife and then told her we need a new unit and they normally cost between 15 - 20 grand. We did not receive a quote for a new unit...... I got a 2nd opinion from another company on the propane fireplace....and they fixed the fireplace when your tech said he could not find parts to fix it and needed a new one. In my opinion, the tech should be fired. What Hlavaty / George services didn't know is that my brother in law has owned his own plumbing/heating/ac business for 40 years. He saw the pictures of the basement heating unit, came down and said it is normal wear and tear and he can fix it. Looking for a refund for $99.00 for their tech to come and give us bad information.
