Hi, this is *** from ********* MA and hope my review helps you make the right decision. I had really bad experience with Woods Power Equipment from *************. Please think twice before getting involved with this company. I believe its a two person company, one plays good cop and other you know. All good until you pay $150 for inspection/visit that you have been promised that will go against the repair as well. But, heres the catch, after the payment you will be offered with either high repair cost or they will simply decline providing service if its a small fix. So, basically your $150 goes one-way and you will never get it back. My situation was that my riding mower was suffering with transmission oil leak from one of the rear wheels because of aged axle oil seal, it was pretty visible. Instead of simply replacing the oil seal, I was told to replace the whole transmission assembly thats almost priced 50% of new riding mower cost. And, believe me, you will be very well convinced of their *** theory and *** spare parts and non-availability of small spares like oil ******* ask was simple, its a 6 years old riding mower, treat it like that and get as much as you can whats left of it. No one can make it like new even if you were to accept and replace the entire transmission, what if now the engine is next? The *** theory is good but you need to be realistic as well. Or maybe, they know it but want to exploit the vulnerability. Finally, I got the oil seal replaced this week, the oil seal costed $8 and thats all it took to fix the leak. Even if I get few months out of it or have to repeat few times its still far better than following their advice. I lost my $150 for nothing. Looks like this company is not interested in small repairs at all and will take away your $150 now saying thats for the inspection/visit cost and will not touch your equipment if it needs a small repair!

We are very sorry that we did not meet your repair expectations. The way that you are repairing and maintaining your tractor is causing extreme damage to the machine. You have been informed that you are using the wrong grade motor oil which is causing engine damage, and to some degree already has caused damage, proven with the extreme smoking upon startup. The fuel filter is installed backwards which is causing starvation of fuel, making a lean running condition which will overheat the engine. One of the spindles has worn bearings and the blade is loose when spinning, which is dangerous to the operator and anything around the machine when mowing. The transmission case is made of plastic and is damaged causing the seal to fail. Installing a cheap aftermarket seal found on the internet is not a proper fix, especially when most of the fluid has already drained out and has not been refilled. Removal of the transmission is needed to refill the fluid to its proper level, which in your case is pointless, because the case is already damaged. We are Woods Power Equipment, have the best intentions for our customers. We provide accurate professional solutions and repairs to machines that we work on.
Our diagnosis deposit covers our time to come out to your home, diagnose the machine, and provide a repair estimate later in the day. This gets applied to the overall cost of repairs if approved by the customer.  If the repair is not approved, it provides compensation to Woods Power Equipment for coming to your home and diagnosing your equipment onsite, looking up parts, and providing a written repair estimate.  You have been fully informed multiple times of our policy and agreed to it.
The OEM manufacturer does not offer individual parts to repair the transmission and has advised complete replacement of the transmission. Please see the parts breakdown attached with this file in your email. It will not retain the seal correctly.  The case that holds the axle is worn and will damage the seal again. The individual seal is also not available from the factory.
We have also fully advised you that if this repair is too much money for the value of the machine,to go buy another tractor of better quality and condition for your best interest instead of putting that kind of money into this one.  We do not sell new or used machines so there would not be any monetary benefit for us in this advice. We have your best monetary interests at hand while protecting our integrity.  We are an experienced, reputable repair facility that has spent almost 40 minutes with you on the phone, along with approx. 30 minutes onsite and hours of research trying to find you the best solution, (that we can stand behind,) that offers you a working tractor without failure. That does not include our travel time to ********* from ********** and back.
We have thoroughly done our job and provided you with the repair cost, advice, and peace of mind of condition of the overall unit as well as how to repair your tractor properly with possible next steps. We are very sorry that you are not grateful for all that we have done for you this far. REPLACING THE LEAKING SEAL ALONE IS NOT AN OPTION. IT IS A BANDAID THAT WILL FAIL ALONG WITH FURTHER FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION ESPECAILLY WITHOUT ADDING FLUID.
We are very sorry this repair is expensive and not what anyone wants to hear, but it is not a fault of our performance. The deposit will not be refunded per our multiple prior conversations. This is also listed in writing on your repair estimate. You have agreed to this price both on the phone and again in person when you handed us payment.   Please let us know if you would like the repairs that we are offering you to be completed correctly.  Thank You, Woods Power Equipment.
