Aqua Blue Pools of Charleston is under contract to build a swimming pool at my location. The contract was signed on 9/11/2020. During the construction, they had to redo several items due to poor construction. One of the largest items was the poured concrete coping. They ultimately agreed to repour the coping but the newly poured one was incorrect as well. The coping does not match up to the height of the decking which causes water to hold in areas and there is a significant gap (2") between the coping and the deck. The gap was caused by one of their repair crews that sawed out part of the decking and coping to compensate for numerous irregularities. The crew then filled the gap (2" wide by 3.5" deep) with caulk. The caulking gives way when stepped on and creates a trip hazard. The edges of the concrete are also sharp from the concrete saw cuts which creates another hazard. This much caulk is also unsightly and not designed to fill this large of a gap. Additionally, the expansion joints in the coping are not cut to a proper depth and are not straight which will ultimately cause the concrete to crack. I am also seeing cracks in the concrete near a drain where they patched an area with a thin layer of concrete. Aqua Blue stated that they deem the work as complete and are demanding final payment, without even inspecting the work. I have sent them numerous pictures and described my concerns but they have not responded.
