The **************************** a couple months ago contracted with this company to handle package orders for inmates in state prisons in place of the former providers (Access and Union Supply). In contrast to the previous providers, this company charges a $5.95 fee per order (most orders are limited to $65, inclusive of this fee, so 10%) plus a 4% credit card fee. But the company (or its accomplice firm) does not have many of the items listed on their website, but doesn't tell you that when you order. On average, a third to a half of my orders are "out of stock" --and many have been since the operation began in July)They refund the cost of the items and tax, but not their $5.95 fee or the 4% credit card fee. Last month, I had about $1500 in refunds, so they kept $60 in credit card fees plus all those $5.95 per order fees. When you considered the volume of family and friends of inmates ordering packages, the rip-off is considerable. If they don't have the item on their website in stock, they should tell the customer so at the time of purchase--or back-order the items and send them when they are in stock. And if their operation is so ill-equiped to handle packages, they should refund their $5.95 per order fee as well as the credit card fee on any order they can not fill in its entirely. Complaints to the TN Commissioner of Corrections fall on deaf ears. He has demonstrated his administrative incompetence up in the *********/****** comples where the federal *** has had to step in.I think the BBB should investigate this bogus operation. If they can't supply the merchandise on their website, and continue to ignore their inability to stock listed merchandise, they should be but out of business.
