    These guys were prompt and efficient but were hired by my insurance company that failed to inform me that I would be responsible for monitoring their work. Removed one large tree that fell right next to the road and sent the insurance a bill for nearly $17,000. The claim adjuster estimated the cost at $6,000. They apparently colluded with the insurance company so they knew how much I was getting from them so they knew they could get such an inflated fee. A local contractor told me the job could have been done for $2,000. Please help as I am a retiree on a fixed income and now I will not have the money to repair my garage. The company is now threatening me with a lien on my property, despite the fact that I heard of this only a couple of months ago.

    Dear *****, The company that your insurance calls to get trees taken off your home is called ***. We are simply hired by *** and *** processes your claim after they send us out to do the work. We have set prices with *** to do this work and everything is priced by inches and accessibility . I do remember your project as you had a massive amount of damage and we had to send two crews to your home to be able to get these trees off of your property they had penetrated into as well as an extensive amount of Tarping. Not only were the trees massive but the project went for several days. *** sent us out there to do the work and when we do we have to get everything signed and agreed upon between our company and you the homeowner. You signed and agreed to everything and told us it would be through your insurance.. Your adjuster does not price the jobs nor do they have to run the amount of equipment and men that we have to in order accomplish a project as large as yours. Your insurance company has talked to us and what they have actually said was that the amount of insurance you carried was not enough and while they paid most of the other contractors, there was not enough on the policy that you bought and paid for to cover the horrific accident that happened. Because of this it has left my company holding the bill and we are a family owned business. As a family because of this it means we are out tens of thousands of dollars as we have to finance the money in the first place to be able to pay for your job and we have not had even one payment from you. This has been going on all the way from August and you have made no effort to contact us , return our calls, emails, and even hung up on one of my employees when you did accidentally answer to us. We do understand this was a tragic tornado that caused this and we are very sorry that happened to you but we have offered you financing and you have not even tried to work with us. To protect our business and the money that we now owe because we have not been paid by you nor have you even tried to look at financing options, it is forcing us to have to obtain an attorney and place a lien on your property. We hate to have to do this, but we are literally just a family trying to work hard and make it each month just as you are. As a company we can not file a lien until 90 days after the project was completed but that ninety days was up in November and it is now March. We have been extremely patient and hopeful that you would resolve this matter , but again you have not attempted to solve it at all. Please look at the financing that we offer for situations like yours and I do recommend that you review your insurances as tornados can do so much damage and your policy has to cover that work you have done if a company is told that your insurance will pay it before starting the work. We have now not been paid anything for nearly eight months and have been as patient and understanding as possible. The lien will be placed in under thirty days according to the attorney we have had to hire for this matter, but we are happy to resolve this with you and get you financed if possible so that you can have smaller monthly payments. You have been impossible to get ahold of and the first time that you reached back out to us is when we had to resort to filing a lien on your property.
