I have to tell you a story. My granddaughter lost her mom in 2012, then lost her beloved grandfather in 2018 to Pancreatic Cancer. Before he passed away he bought her beautiful little opal cross necklace. She wore that necklace every single day for the last 3 years. A couple of week ago she noticed that one of the opals had fallen out and was nowhere to be found. She cried because it just meant so much to her. I told her we could probably get it fixed. She said she was happy that we might fix it instead of replacing it. Of course being grandma I searched online to see if I could just replace it without her knowing. I found the necklace and ordered it. The problem was that when it came it was significantly bigger than the original necklace. I thought, well this is not going to go over well, she would be able to tell it was a different necklace and be very upset. So, I went to the jewelry stores in the local mall who all told me it could only be fixed at an astronomical cost. The last one I went to told me to try David's Jewelry and Coin exchange on University Ave in College Station. When I went in I had low expectations that they could possibly use the new necklace to fix the old necklace. But, they said they would see what their jeweler could do. A couple of weeks later I called to see if they had been able to fix it. They said the jeweler couldn’t fix it. I told my granddaughter this news and she cried again. I took my granddaughter into the shop today to retrieve the necklaces and to our surprise it HAD BEEN FIXED! My granddaughter cried tears of happiness and hugged the manager, Jaime Contreras, 3 or 4 times before we left. It did not cost an astronomical amount of money either.
