      Ms. ***** ******

      Dear Dispute Resolution Department,

Careington International Corporation (Careington) received written correspondence from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding a request for assistance filed by Ms. ***** ******.

Ms. ****** purchased a discount plan from Careington with an effective date of September 1, 2023. The terms and conditions on the application and membership agreement include the disclosure that the plan will automatically renew, and the member will continue to be billed until they cancel their membership.

After reviewing our records, we found no record of a cancellation request from the member prior to the renewal. However, in an effort to resolve this matter amicably, we will consider this request as cancellation and issued a refund of $89.00 to ********** card on September 25, 2024.

We appreciate your communication and the opportunity to resolve this matter. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at ************************************* or at *********************.

      Mrs. Chantovia Jackson

      Dear Dispute Resolution Department,

We received email correspondence from the Better Business Bureauregarding a requestfor assistance filed by Mrs. Chantovia Jackson. Core V Solutions, Inc. dba Careington Benefit Solutions (Careington) is a licensed Third-Party Administrator and processes claims for multiple carriers.  Mrs. Jackson’s plan was purchased from Continental Life Insurance Company, an Aetna Company (Continental Life) in June of 2023.

After a thorough review of Mrs. Jackson’s records, we found that several claims were submitted, processed and paid under her plan. These claims indicate that her plan was actively utilized during this time. In addition, the only communication we received from the member prior to the request to cancel on August 5, 2024, was a call on December 8, 2023 requesting verification of her address and to have new ID cards sent.

We reached out to the carrier, and they have informed us that since the plan remained active throughout this period, and claims were filed and paid to the member during this time, they are unable to provide a refund of the premiums. Should the member have any additional questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact Continental Life by phone at #800-264-4000, or in writing at PO Box 14770 Lexington, KY 40512-4770.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We take every customer concern seriously and strive to ensure transparency and satisfaction in all interactions.

      Sincerely,

I have been charged $29.95 for over a year ( *** stated since 7/1/2021) for a discounted Dental and Vision account. Before calling the company I tried accessing account via website using forgot username, however no account exists using my emails. I have never received any postal mail, emails, or calls from this company. I do not have any information with an account/member. I stayed on the phone 30 minutes being switched to 3 different representatives, explaining my issues each time. The only thing the 1st and last representative stated that they only can cancel. Each time I requested a supervisor I was put on hold and put back in the *****. The only way I discovered that I was being automatically charged is because, my credit card declined a transaction. This is a card that does not have much activity so that seemed odd. I research the charge of $29.95 for 12 months, and thats when I attempted to access their website. This is just ridiculous for a company to continue to charge someone, and they do not see any activity/usage on their end from providers. I would like my funds refunded without any future charges.

Near the end of January 2024 I received a renewal notice from Careingon dated January 17th. It said it would automatically renew my account on or around 3/05/2024. The second page had information on how to cancel membership by sending an email to ******************** which I did. In June I found out that they had charged my credit card for the $179 renewal in March. I called the company and asked for a refund and I was asked to send the supporting documents I had, which were the renewal letter from Careington showing the cancellation instructions and the copy of the email I sent with the date. They requested that I send this info to ******************** which I did. I have called to follow up and they denied ever receiving the cancellation email. My email sends me notifications on emails that are undeliverable and I never received this notification so I know my email was delivered. I have been unable to resolve this issue with them since.

In January 2024 my husband and I discovered that our dental insurance was not (and had not been) active for the past 2 years. We were unaware our policy had lapsed because the company administrator Careington had covered some things during that time. The company that owns our policy reinstated our policy retroactively and we paid them for the past two years. We were told to resubmit our claims, some of which had already been submitted by our dentist multiple times. We Paid them (now 2.5 years of coverage) and May 1st resubmitted every single claim that had not been covered from that time period. We were told they would send us confirmation, and booklet or services covered as well as member cards. We were told claim review would take up to 30 days. Today June 6th we called back and were told that due to a glitch the claims had not gone through and we will need to now resubmit the claims again. The company when we call still does not seem to recognize us as members. We believe because the company purchased our plan from another insurer and are required to keep our rate low are intentionally providing us horrible coverage in the hopes that we will just leave and find another insurer. We are self employed and paid them 2.5 years for policy coverage in good faith and it has gotten nothing but extraordinarily long times spent on the phone getting passed back and forth to customer service reps. I spoke today with a rep who said she saw a note that the policy coverage pack had been sent and it was marked "pending" This was promised us in January of this year. We are beside ourselves.

I signed up for this discount program about eight years ago with the intention of canceling it within a few years, I have moved since then and have only used it a few times in that time. My dentist, no longer accepts this insurance or discount plan and I have been trying to cancel it, however, the phone number on the website is out of service and there seems to be no other option for contacting the company aside from sending a fax (who even does that anymore?) And with the amount of complaints that other people are experiencing in getting refunds/cancellations I felt this was the best way to actually be able to get this canceled. Please contact me with my cancellation confirmation. Member # ******** Subscriber ID ******* Group ID USH-PDP Effective date 5/1/2016
