Carrington dental has charged my cking account for 5 months without sending me policy paperwork or I D cards.. When I call which I did 6 times, i get the run around .they cant locate policy, One day they tell me one thing the next day that changes...I'm looking for 5 months credit as i could not use policy...Business response

Ms. ***********'s plan was purchased from Continental Life Insurance Company, an Aetna Company (Continental Life). Careington's affiliate company, Core V Solutions, Inc dba Careington Benefit Solutions (Core V) is a licensed Third-Party Administrator responsible for processing claims on behalf of Continental Life. Upon receipt of your correspondence, Core V forwarded Ms. ***********'s complaint to Continental Life for review. Continental Life informed us that they cancelled the policy and mailed a refund check in the amount of $229.50 on April 28, 2022. Mrs. *********** should receive it within 10 business days. For additional questions regarding her refund, Ms. *********** may contact Continental Life directly at 800-262-4000. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/13) */ Dear Dispute Resolution Department, Careington International Corporation (Careington) received written correspondence from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding a complaint filed by Mr. ******* ********. Careington operates discount health care programs. We sell directly to consumers and contract with third-party entities that sell our products to consumers. Mr. ******** purchased a discount dental plan through Qualbe Marketing Group, LLC, doing business as 1Dental.com, on April 09, 2019. The terms and conditions on the application and the Membership Agreement include the disclosure that the member will continue to be automatically billed until they cancel the membership. Additionally, a courtesy renewal notice was sent on February 25, 2022, to advise Mr. ******** of the upcoming renewal payment due on April 5, 2022. However, in order bring to bring this matter to a resolution, we have cancelled Mr. ********'s plan and issued a refund of $99.00 by check on April 08, 2022. The check has been mailed to the address he provided in his complaint, and Mr. ******** should receive this payment within 7-10 business days. I got a message from my bank around 4:09 AM 1/5/22 stating that I have insurance from Careington International Corporation and I have not ever spoken to them. I contacted the company early morning at 8AM to figure out a solution to the problem and the company did not respond. I am contacting my bank after the transaction stops pending to let them know what the issue is. I want a money return as soon as possible and I want someone to explain how they got my card information without speaking to me.Business response

I had a Careington Insurance, three years ago. Never used it. I found that was wasting my money I cancelled two years ago Last year they charged me, saying that they mailed me a some automatic inrallment related letter, but I did not respond. I did not open it because I called and I canceled it by phone. Careintong did not put the money back. I gave up This year happened same thing, I called the business again. Based on their mail they will refund me some money minus processing fee I do not care as much for that $90 but they do the same thing for others too.It is not wright And no one cares for their plan. .Business response

Ms. ***********'s account was also charged $89.00 on December 5, 2021, for the automatic renewal of her plan. Per Ms. *********** 's request, Careington has cancelled her plan, and has issued full refunds for both the 2020 and 2021 annual fees on December 14, 2021, and December 22, 2021. I purchased the Careington C500 Dental Discount plan from an agent named **** **** (whose office is located in Corte Madera, CA) back in September of 2021. Yesterday, (12-2-2021), I requested lists of participating dental providers directly from Careginton in three different Zip Codes. After reviewing the three lists (and calling four different offices on those lists), I determined that the product I had been sold is not accepted by ANY of the providers listed in the three different Zip Code lists I received from Careington. Two of the dental offices listed in the 94903 and 94947 Zip Codes have been out of business for more than a year. At length, after spending quite a bit of time on the phone, I determined that I am not able to use this product at any dental office that is located within a reasonable distance of where I live. I called Careington this morning and requested a full refund for cancellation of the product I purchased. I then received an email from Careington that they cancelled the plan, but denied a refund. Careington sent me to four different people in their refund departments by phone, the last of whom tried to tell me that I purchased four different plans and that at least one of those plans would be accepted by at least one dentist on the plan list that Careington provided. Clearly, the plan list that Careington sent to me is badly outdated, and I'm not sure where they got the idea that I bought 4 plans - I only bought one, and no dentist anywhere near where I live will accept the plan I purchased. PLUS, the Careington list of participating providers is so badly outdated that NONE of the dentists listed on it will accept ANY form of Careington Discount Dental plan. Careington just told me on the phone that they will not agree to refund my money. Why should I have to spend $89.50 for a service I cannot even use? Please instruct Careington to immediately provide me with a full refund for cancellation of this product.Business response

purchased this insurance policy based yesterday 11/30/21 on the promise of a discount for oral surgery. WAs told I'd get a 20% discount on dental work. I was told that my dental provider was listed as an active participant so I trusted that they were legit. WAs told that my savings would worthwhile but when I found out that I would not be paying any less to the oral surgeon on this plan in fact I'd be paying more!! Was told there was a 30 day money back guarantee. When I called to cancel I was told that the dentist was mistaken so I called the dentist back and was told that the contracted prices for this plan are more then I'd pay with out . When I called back to cancel Again I waited on hold for 1/2 then was told someone would call me back and I'd keep my space in line but they never called back - I've spent already a few hours on this issue and the company makes it very difficult to cancel even after assuring me that it would be no problem!!Business response

Careington forwarded the above-referenced complaint to DentalPlans.com, who notified us that on December 16, 2021 a full refund was issued to Ms. ************ in the amount of $169.96. The credit should appear in her account within 3-5 business days. Her plan has also been cancelled. Careington then contacted Ms. ************ to inform her of the refund and cancellation.
