    Be careful with Texas Elite Restoration from Harlingen, TX for several reasons. Their AUTHORIZATION FOR SERVICES & PAYMENT form does not list your total cost (or any cost) or a time of completion. I had to ask for this to be included on the form. After their representative left, I realized I did not get a copy and called their office. They do not provide a copy of the contract unless you ask. We were asked to pay half before starting the work and discovered on the Authorization form the total cost of cleaning and/or repairs shall be payable upon completion of work. (I made a copy of the this form the following day when the dehumidifier and fan were brought to our house.) We received a receipt via e-mail for this initial payment. I made sure it stated the amount paid, total cost and remaining balance, as well as an estimated time of completion (3 weeks). The form provided an address but when I checked the internet, it turns out to be a vacant field in Harlingen. (My mistake for not checking first.) Their website claims they have been in business since 2013. Also according to their website, they claim the following, but all they did for us was to leave a dehumidifier and fan after removing a section of the drywall. No testing was ever performed, especially the final. TRUST OUR THOROUGH MOLD REMOVAL PROCESS When it comes to fighting mold, we never take any chances. Our team follows a multi-step process to keep you safe. Count on our experts to: • Come to your property to collect a sample • Analyze to determine the mold type • Begin the mold removal process based on the mold type • Install air scrubbers and establish containment room protocols • Conduct final testing to ensure there's no mold left behind Even though I was told the progress would be monitored the next week, it was 3 weeks before anyone came by. Nobody called and my e-mails to them were never answered. A recorded message advised me to text when I called the number on their business card. (At the time I did not have a phone to receive or send text.) The closet still had an odor when the dehumidifier and fan were picked up. At that time I complained of this and it was then sprayed to correct the matter. This spray is designed to kill the mold as well as the odor. I noticed the person applying this spray wore no protective equipment such as a mask, goggles or gloves. The Material Safety Data Sheet requires this, but apparently it was not enforced or the employee was unaware. Because no sample of the drywall was given to the painter, he had to cut another piece to obtain the correct paint color. Although the repair was satisfactory, paint was left smeared on the bathroom doors and drywall dust was tracked on our carpet. After completion, the painter poured all the excess paint into our garden. In our garbage can we discovered an almost full bag of texture wasted. This was purchased with money we provided him for supplies. When the painter informed us that he notified their office his work was completed, we received a bill for the remainder of the payment. The e-mail sent to us claimed our final payment had been due 2 days after the Authorization form had been signed, even though the project was to take longer and final payment not due until completion.
