I have had the honor of visiting this facility twice in the last 4 years. My first visit was due to the emergency demand by my nurse practitioner to get a blood transfusion. A doctor comes in with 4 additional ppl and didn't ask permission. The doctor never asked any health questions. He proceeds to mention that my blood level was 7.0 and they don't do transfusions unless it is below 7, he tells me to lose weight and it will help (my starting weight was 326 and during my visit, I was 207), to exercise and eat healthly foods. He made all of these suggestions without introducing himself or asking about my health history. I advised my nurse practitioner of what took place, she apologized and said, that isn't protocol and that I desperately needed the transfusion which was the reason I was fainting so frequently. The most recent visit ended up a disaster. The doctor was very rude and spoke to me as if I was a no one. The worst part is that my 13 year old son was with me. ** Joseph *********** was so determined to get me out of the facility that he didn't even ensure that I was coherent. They released me out of the room without an escort. Honestly I can't tell you how me and my 13 year old son walk 6 miles to our home. That was a poor judgement call on the hospital and doctors behalf. Anything could have happened to both myself and my child. I still can't recall the entire day. I have been causing my son to relieve this experience daily just so I can try to put the pieces together. Either this place needs to be closed or the staff need to take classes on bed side manners and how to care for a patient, new procedures need to be put into place regarding patient care, their pay should be based off the level of care and service they provide and all patient care member should be held accountable for the lack of service and attention provided to their assigned patients.
