A young man knocked on my door early AM & sold me some pest control services. I am a renter not owner. Contract was they come over three ********** pay every three months. Paid $375 & had two services done. My house has all types of insects, spiders, ants, & pincher bugs. Its been three/four months since first service and second service & the bugs have not stopped nor slowed down. I have pictures of bugs in my house, garage, and front door. Its a horrible service and they dont do their job. Its a different person that does the service each time, & I have to follow and remind them of their own job to get everything and also point out nests or areas they missed. From other reviews I read online; its the same story. Young man persistently sells you, you get no paperwork or email of your purchase till a week later, they dont spray correctly, bugs never go away, AND they lock you in a contract with a fee for this exact reason. I will be sending this to court if they dont refund.Business response

Thank you for your feedback. After reviewing the account it looks like there is no $300+ charge . It seems there are pest issues and it's possible that the customer is experiencing difficulties. However, we haven't received any direct communication from her to address the matter. Customer is on schedule to receive quarterly services for Dec'24, Mar'25 ,Jun'25, and is most likely waiting on a quarterly and not taking advantage of the free unlimited warranty visits that come with the subscription. I have attached the agreement where it states the due months for quarterly services.

It was $165 + $85. Your company & sales employee took advantage of a person WHO DOES NOT LIVE at the property. Also, your salesman took the credit card information of the person LEASING the home who wasnt there at the time. Your salesman was very pushy and persuasive at this transaction it was almost predatory. I will be taking this higher. I was on vacation at my parents house in ********* OR, when a sales representative shows up to the house selling pest control services. He tells me that their truck is already on the premises and that they are offering services for a one time charge of 59 dollars. I asked if that was the only charge I will receive for the services and he says yes, so I say yes to him and give him my card and they ask me to sign on their ipad supposively for the service provided that day only and another signature for the charge and another signature for acknowledgement of the one time payment. I go ahead and sign and they do the service and they charge my card 59 dollars. After aproximately 30 days another charge comes thru and I call and ask them the reason for that charge and they say that it's 129 for the second visit to the house after 30 days they were going to go again and service the house and charge me another 129 dollars. So I said why? if it was suppose to be only one charge for 59 dollars and they said no, you signed a one year contract with us and you will be charged 129 for every visit, to which I said no I want you to refund my charge of 129 cause that was not the agreement and close the account. And they closed my account and charged me 309 dollars for closing my account on top of the 129 that were already charged without my authorization. So to summyrize things they lied in my face saying it was going to be a one time charge of 59 dollars and instead i ended up paying 497 some dollars for this. How can we get our money back? What can we do? this is not fear and it should be illegal. can someone please help me out? lets make this go viral and let them know that what they are doing its illegal. I called them back to try to get my money back and they were very rude and said no. I called my bank and submitted 2 claims and they were both denied because my signatures were in the contract as if I accepted the charges and made it look legal when really they scammed me. I signed up for Moxie quarterly maintenance service in June 2024.They came unannounced (without having been scheduled) 2 times where I had to ask them to come back another day because my husband was not home or had plans to use our yard and would not be able to do the treatment. The first pest assessment/treatment happened on July 31 (again we had not scheduled them to come and only received a call they were on there way about 20 min before they arrived). About halfway through, it started downpouring rain. The technician told us he could not finish and would come back another day. I paid promotional rate of $89 for that first visit.On 8/20, another technician arrive (again not having been scheduled). I ask them if they were there to finish the job from 7/31 and they said Yes. I proceeded to let them finish. After that I receive an invoice for $129 for a quarterly maintenance visit. I was surprised by this since I had not scheduled this service and had been told otherwise by the technician. I called and emailed their customer service numerous times since 8/20 to resolve the issue and remove the invoice because of the lack of transparency and miscommunication on their end. I have asked to escalate the issue to management and have not gotten a response. They have gone ahead and canceled my maintenance plan, thankfully but they continue to call and email me to collect the funds for the error that occurred on 8/20. Every time I talk to someone they act like they have no idea what the issue is despite the fact I have documented it with their customer service team numerous times. I am not asking for any refund I just want my account cleared, the invoice removed, and for them to stop contacting me every week.Business response

The price is way more than the salesman said! He never told me I was signing a 12 month contract. I also never had anyone come out to my house to do a re-spray(after requesting this service and an appointment scheduled) because the spiders and wasps were still on my porch! I got an email that said someone came by. I checked my Ring camera on that day and no one came by at all.Business response

Thank You for your feedback. We have looked into your account, it looks like the technician was onsite for at least 30 minutes. Keep in mind that the customer is not obligated to be home as the scope of service consists on the exterior of the home, unless interior is requested by customer. The salesmen said he was a local provider small business and got me to sign up without telling me that I was locked into a contract. These guys are scam artists who pretend to treat your home but don't actually do any pest applications. When I cancelled, they are demanding 80% early termination fee for doing nothing. Stay away from this company it's a giant scam.Business response

Thank you for your feedback. The customer only received service 2 times from June 2024 to October 2024. After the 2nd service the customer decided to not make the payment to the point where the customer decided to cancel. The customer has a 3 days buyers right to where they can cancel 3 days after service with no cancelation fee. Otherwise if it is requested to cancel after that or before the year ends then the fee applies. Customer was also informed if he moved forward with canceling it would be applied and the only way to avoid it would be keeping the service.
The customer also did not receive the full scope service due to them canceling . The agreement states the customers receive unlimited warranty pest visits , however the office was never notified that he was unsatisfied with the service received so that we could send a treatment to be completed.

Salesmen are not clear at all what you are signing up for, just throw the document in your face and made me think I was signing up for a one time service. I had my first treatment in July which was perfectly fine cause that what I thought I was paying for. I was put on a year long contract for quarterly treatment. After July they showed up one month later and did another treatment charging me 3x what I paid the first time. First off thats not quarterly so figure it out and stop trying to get more money.Second off, I had a spray in July why the h*** would you come in August. Also make clear that youre selling a contract not a one time good deal. Also make sure Im home when you spray or else I dont even know if you did anything. Company is a modern day legal scam and is ridiculous. If I could cancel I certainly would! But Im stuck oncontract. I will be in your office the day I hit one year to give you my full opinion on this joke of a company.Business response

Thankyou for your feedback. I have attatched our one year agreement. In the agreement it states that there are 4 quarterly services on top of your initial appointment. Towards the center of the page you will see a schedule of the due months for service, and the amount that each quarterly is. Therefore when the customer signed up for the ******************** the schedule had to be seen since the signature goes over that. It also states that the is a early cancelation fee towards the bottom right under 11. TERMINATION OF THIS AGREEMENT. Therefore the customer is responsible of paying the early cancelation fee.
The ony way to avoid the cancelation fee was to cancel with in the first 3 days (due to the 3 day buyers right) or after the one year agreement has been completed.

I am rejecting this response because the company is a joke and cant even spell correctly in a response to me, shows the incompetence of their back office team. I hope you enjoy my $800 this year and hope someone is ready for me July 1st in person when I come to cancel my plan in ******. The least you could do is provide some good customer service when I do come and complain in person, since youve done nothing for me so far and arent willing to do anything. This company will show up at your house and promise you a one time service with no contract, then charge you nearly $600 for cancelling a contract you never signed. The man who showed up at my house specifically stated that if we liked the service, we could then sign a contract. No contract was ever signed. After noticing the charge on my account, I called **********************. A representative told me that the charge was an early cancellation fee. A fee of nearly $600 is flat out outrageous. Whats worse is that it was a fee for cancelling something I never signed. They told me that they sent letters of correspondence explaining that I would be charged, but the email address and number on file werent mine or anyone elses in my household. Clearly this was an error on the companys end, and they refused to work with me to rectify their wrong. Stay away from Moxie Pest Control at all costs!Business response

Thank you for your feedback . After reviewing the customer account it looks like the one who signed up was Oki not Yvonne . You are able to see towards the center of the agreement that there is a schedule of the services that will be conducted and the amount each one will be. If customer decided to cancel he could , but there is a section ( Section11. TERMINATION OF THIS AGREEMENT.)
Customer also has a 3 day buyers right, which states if a customer wants to cancel within those first 3 days they may with no cancelation fee. If that request is submitted after the 3 days and before the 1 year agreement. Then the customer is responsible paying 80% of remaining services.

As I previously stated, no one in my household has this signature, so it was unlawfully signed. The contact info listed (email and phone number) are also incorrect. The account manager claimed to have emailed us about the cancelled contract, but we couldn’t have recieved it with an incorrect email address.

A contract was signed . Customer states its a relative , therefore the relative is responsible for any agreement that was signed. Relative is responsible for signing up and using another person's card information for payment. Therefore relative is responsible. SEPT 27/2024 moxie pest control went to my bank without my authorization to get $****** from my account, i did not give them any check or authorization to go to my account.they forge a signature to get my money without my authorization,i would like to have my money back on my account , when i call they say one of the manager will get back to me that never done they are in MD the phone number they have is *********** or ************ i never give them a check for ****** i don't know how they went to my accountCustomer response

Moxie is a predatory business! They came to our door and got the person who is NOT allowed to make financial decisions to sign a contract. I had to piece the details together using my bank account and complaints from my neighbors on *********I tried to cancel once I found out what had happened only to find out they would charge me $385 if I did. On 9/27/2024, I had an appointment scheduled with Moxie for a free termite inspection. The gentleman, ****, told me that he found termite nymphs in my irrigation box and that they had to be treated. He said he took a picture and even sent it to a group chat to confirm. He pressured me into purchasing their services. I told him I had to go to work and would deal with it later. He told me this is not something I could wait on and that my home would be severely damaged if I did not act fast. He pressured me into paying for his services. I asked him for a picture of the nymphs he found and he said he would check later and he may have deleted the picture. I'm unsure why he couldn't download it from the group chat he told me he sent it to.Same day, I had a different company come out and they found no evidence of termites. I was lied to, pressured and scared into using their services when I did not need them.Business response
