If I could choose 0 stars I would. Do your homework before sending a loved one to this facility. Highland Meadows says that they are all about dignity and quality care but I'm here to tell you that they are NOT. Highland Meadows is all about the money. Once you are out of ******** they are quick to send you packing. In fact they will tell you that they want to have a care team meeting with you regarding your loved one, but really the meeting is to let you know that the ******** has run out and that you have to take your loved one out of their facility. The care for patients is horrible. My mother went into the facility to receive rehab for a broken hip. She was left in bed for two weeks before rehab even started. Her surgeon was furious, as she should have been up and moving each day. My mother had a *** the ENTIRE time that she was there and still had one the day that she left. She was at Highland Meadows for 45 days. That is way too long to have a UTI. She sat in a wet diaper all day long. When she asked for help getting to the restroom, no one ever had time to come help her. She tried multiple times to get out of bed on her own to get to the bathroom and ended up on the floor. Nurses were irritated when they had to come help her, they did not want to be inconvenienced. When I would ask the nurses to come and help my mom they would get upset. My mom had to sit in a chair for six hours in pain before someone would come and help her back into bed, because they were understaffed and did not have time to help her. I could go on and on. Just because a facility has five stars does NOT mean that they are good. Do your homework before leaving your loved one here. It may look clean and nice but looks can be deceiving. Stick around and actually pay attention. My family was there so much that we were told we needed to leave and not be up there. They didn't want us there to see what was actually going on. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
