Back in Dec 2021, I decided to upgrade my son's IPhone 11 to an Iphone 13 pro max and was advised that the estimated trade in offer via Assurant was $188 and that if I accepted the offer, they would add an additional $100 depending on the condition of the phone when received however I do have the option to accept or decline it and they would mail it back to me with no issues whatsoever. Weeks later after mailing the device to Assurant per Spectrum's request, I contacted them and they advised that they did receive my device however I would have to contact Spectrum due to they are contracted with them and not me. A week or two later I received an email from Spectrum after reaching out to them and providing the tracking number which states that Assurant has the phone in their possession and that was it. I was under the impression that if they saw how good the condition of the phone was, they would offer more of the trade in value which is not the case here. I called and advised several reps that I never accepted any offer, I do not want a credit on my bill, I do not want a refurbished phone and that I want my same exact phone back from Assurant. It has gotten to the point where I advised that I will disconnect all 3 lines and move to another carrier and also file suite because there is nowhere in any phone conversations or email that I accepted any trade in offer and that is not integrity. Why cant they just give me back my phone and I will be more than happy to continue to pay off the upgraded phone without any problem. If Assurant cannot verify when and how did I accept the offer, why cant they demand my phone be returned back to me. I work hard and paid with my hard earned money to purchase these phone and now, it has been stolen and no one is trying to help me recover it. Specturm carries a inventory of phones but b/c they don't want to help, I would have to file a small claim in court. I never imagined this is how Specturm would treat me.
