              I am the beneficiary of a life insurance policy that my mother took out for me many years ago. The value of the policy upon her death was approximately $13,300. I contacted National Life Group to surrender the policy and they sent me only $8,400. I attempted to contact them regarding this issue but they won't access my account as they claim I much provide the beneficiary on the policy. I was the beneficiary on the policy but they claim it's someone else and will not answer any of my policy questions. I've contact their fraud department but this is an obvious attempt to hide the reasoning for the missing funds they did not send me which is approximately $5,000. I asked for a contact number to their fraud department and they gave me a fax number. This company is withholding my funds, not providing me a reason why and have listed a beneficiary on the policy that I never provided.

              I surrendered my insurance policy in July via phone and emailed the necessary form needed. I had to re-submit in the name I opened the policy in per phone conversation. Once re-submitted with documents that I provided as proof of ownership, I was told I would receive the current value of the policy. I was told in one email it was processed and it would take 2 to 3 days to show up in my account, which I provided that information as well. I continue to receive automated requests for monthly payments that should have stopped. I called again Sept 24, 2024 and I was told I requested a name change that is why the process is taking so long. I did not request a name change, it was just another option if I did not want to re-submit the surrender form in the origin name. I re-submitted as requested again and provided documentation. Sept 24, 2024 I was told it would take 20 days from August 21 to receive the funds. It has been longer than 20 days and I still had to contact National Life Group again. Had I not contacted them I would not have received any information. I am very dissatisfied and frustrated with the entire process.
