I had puchased a safe on the 11th of Nov. For $799 The safe is now on sale for$599 $200 dollars cheaper than i paid. It has been 15 days and they say it is been too long of a time for them to issue me a price difference. I find that to be bit rediculous on an item that is this expensive.Business response

I purchased a water heater from Menards in October of 2020. It is currently November of 2021. The water heater is under warranty, but not working. I called the manufacturer on Friday, November 19th and received a case number. They said I would be contacted by a plumber within 24 hours. I was not contacted all weekend. On Monday I was able to reach them again. They sent a plumber who arrived today, Wednesday November 24th (6 days with no hot water). The plumber said the unit is defective and there has been a lot of problems with this particular water heater. He instructed us to get in touch with Menards for a new unit. When it is at our home, he will come back to install it. Menards service counter told us we have to buy a new unit, haul it to our home, have the plumber install it, then haul the old unit to the store for a refund. My husband is 71 years old, suffering with terminal cancer. We have no truck and we are unable to do what they are asking. Additionally, with a full parts and labor warranty, we do not believe it is our responsibility. I then called Menards corporate who told me I have to submit an "Installed Guest Complaint Form" via US Mail or Fax. The wait time to be contacted back is aprox. 7 days. I was told, by ******** who answers the phone at the corporate office, that this is the ONLY way to handle the situation. This means waiting 7 more days, with no hot water, just to talk to someone about the situation. Terminally ill - no hot water - no means to escalate the situation - no backing of their product's full parts & labor warranty in the meantime. At this point we do not know what costs are covered: Will they cover a truck rental and labor to haul the units? They sold us a defective product with a warranty, but they are placing the responsibility on our shoulders. These are shoddy business practices and a bait and switch of ******************* They are fully aware of it and build Fort **** around their complain department to avoid dealing with it.Business response

Hi my name is ******************* and my reason for this complaint would be every year for the past 5 years I've spend around ****** at Menards and every year I collect my rebate receipts and send them in all at once I've never had a problem until this year where I was expecting around $1500 in store credit from my rebates as like any other year I collected my rebates until I was done with my renovation and sent them in to where I only got three in store credit vouchers back totalling roughly around $ *************************************************************************************** I've got every receipt for the last five years of renovating my home soley for my records and unfortunately times like this where the big box store doesn't hold to there word and give me what is rightfully owed I've been patient waiting on perhaps more in store vouchers to be received via mail but I've yet to receive them I've given Menards alot of my money over the years and every other year I did the same thing and they have given me my in store credit and iam not happy with the chain what so ever and would like to file whatever I need to in order to get this straightened out I'd like to get the remaining balance of what is owed to me or I will proceed into taking legal action into getting what ya rightfully owed to me. We purchased cabinets and countertop from Menards in **********, **. We received the template for the countertops but were unable to send back to the company due to family issues and a death in the family. We went back to Menards after we were able to start working on the kitchen again. We were told the countertop order was cancelled because the template wasn't sent in before 90 days. Asked if we could have the money refunded due to the fact the template was never sent, the countertops were never ordered, cut or delivered. Store not helpful giving me the Corporate number which is totally automated and can't speak to a live person. We were told that we could have in store credit which is not acceptable! Through this process we had to make several trips back to the store because things were missing from the cabinet order, or there were too many of other things.Business response
